Invasive Species - Tin Type Portrait Series (1/3) Daffodil

A personal project of mine inspired by old circus portraits of the 1910s. Featuring 3 hats (a dandelion, a daffodil and a common lawn mushroom) I made from recycled materials. Made to explore my capabilities with costume and prop making & art direction as someone with a love for practical production methods.

My @csmgraphics unit 6 short film project I wrote and directed where I explored the passage of time through skin and aging.

Through this project I explored the pressure of beauty standards and societal expectations on women and confronted our discomfort with our appearance revealing evidence of growing old.

The Theatre Hat - The Feminine Performance

Through my project I aimed to portray the real life horrors modern women and women throughout history have faced to fit into a world where their value is tied to their feminity, youth and beauty. I explored the idea that feminity is ultimately an inherant performance that every woman is forced to maintain to prove her value in society, thus the Opera Theatre hat concept was born! A surreal and striking visual, that functions as an isolated view of a woman’s face on a vintage opera stage, the focus of the performance.
The hat I made out of primarily recycled materials, going through scrap bins and cardboard to bring it to life and features a functioning curtain mechanism allowing the curtains to be opened by pulling a tassel at the side of the hat.

Penny For Your Thoughts Flipbook Publication

This dualsided flip book that explores the quiet,
meditative power of daily routines. On one side, a man brushes his teeth, rendered in crisp, high resolution detail, anchoring the viewer in the clarity of the present moment. On the reverse, a grainy, dreamlike animation depicts a personal memory, a place he returns to in his mind for peace. The contrast between the sharpness of the now and the softness of recollection reflects the tension between presence and nostalgia, suggesting that even the most mundane acts can become grounding rituals when infused with awareness. Presented as a flip book, the project removes the need for compatible technology, making the video-like content accessible across time, context, and audience. Its physical form invites an interactive, tactile experience, one where viewers actively engage with the rhythm of imagery, echoing the repetitive motions and mindful moments the work seeks to honor.

Striking Truths, Matchbook Publication

Inspired by my own sudden awareness of the
quiet fears woven into daily life, this publication
is a journal of the unspoken thoughts modern
women carry, the ones so habitual they no
longer feel remarkable. This publication disguised as an oversized matchbook reflects on instinctive acts of survival: avoiding the edge of a train platform, shrinking under a stranger’s gaze, feeling the pressure of youth-dependent value.What’s most unsettling is how unquestioningly we accept these thoughts as reality, how we’ve internalized a guide to survival passed down

through trauma, our own and that of other
women. Even if we try to speak up or fight back,
we often normalize it, learning to avoid being
targeted instead of speak out and risking our
safety.

Pt 3/3 detail shots. A quick campaign I Creative Directed, Casted, Styled and shot for the Merrit double wide wool trousers original design made by @levi_jeans__ @leviwebb.designs

The trousers feature an asymmetrical extra high waisted vertical triple buttoned waistband closure. Crafted from a rich dark blue striped thick wool that was donated scrap material, these pants were crafted with sustainability as a focus.

The silhouette of these trouser’s was heavily inspired by 60s women’s maxi skirts with a thick waistband and adapted into a tailored pair of men’s trousers. Inspiration was also taken from the flowy movable high waisted “low oxford” trousers that rose to popularity amongst the Northern Soul dance movement in London in the 60s/70s.
