Interview with @aloversburden
Toronto-based painter Julia de Ruiter (b. 2003) explores the darker corners of internet culture, drawing on her early exposure to online spaces and the toxic ideologies that thrive within them. Using a growing archive of found digital imagery, her oil paintings examine predatory behaviour, toxic masculinity, and the psychological impact of contemporary online life.
A recent BFA graduate from OCAD University, de Ruiter will begin her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art this fall.

Tomorrow at 3:30 EDT I’m releasing 25+ paintings, 5 new stickers, and a sticker sheet on my website!

I’ve been painting small little memes for fun on canvas panels before I move to the UK to continue my schooling. So this is the last chance to get any stickers or paintings before I move away for the year!🌈🍻
