Felix “Fefe” Faye, I am still in denial that you crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. 🥺 4/11/26. My heart is shattered. You were 15 years old, the longest being I’ve EVER lived with. 15 years consecutively❣️You also flagged Mila’s coming by making biscuits on my tummy, every day, until I visited the doctor. And the first to feel Mila kick! 🥹 You were the best friend that’s been with me every day, through so many chapters of our life together, living in 4 cities - every single one being the first to greet me right at the door. You are LOVE, such a caretaker to every cat (especially your brother, Oscar) and human you befriended and there is A LOT of love for you still, earth-side. Your human sister @the_mila_gia already misses you immensely. You were always Brother-Papa cat to her, running to her side whenever Mila was sad or sick. I know Oscar will greet you at the end of the bridge, as it’s his turn to take care of you in this transition. Please visit Mila, Fiona, and I and those that love you. For a very long time, I know I’ll wake, open my door, or turn a corner, in hopes of hearing your conversational meows. Thank you for mustering enough energy yesterday to tell me I’ll be okay. Please keep reminding me. Enjoy all the salmon sashimi, vanilla ice cream, cream cheese frosting, Churu, mozzarella cheese, rehydrated chicken and male spirit laps (IYKYK 😂) up there. Our script keeps getting some love. 🥳

*What They Left Us* - the screenplay I co-wrote with @JamesTabeek - is a Quarter Finalist at the Los Angeles Film Awards and an Official Selection at Florence Film Awards. 🎬

I'm not going to lie. Every time we get one of these laurels (four and counting), I well up. It's been such a long journey writing this script. And an even longer one living it.

As we approach investors and name talent, these recognitions mean everything. They're validation that the story is resonating. That we're on the right path.

This story keeps finding its people. 💛

Well this is a nice way to start the week. 🥳

What They Left Us is a Semi-Finalist at the International Indie Film & Screenplay Festival!

This script started as my way of processing the hardest years of my life. Now it's becoming a film.

Every bit of recognition reminds me this story, written by myself and @jamestabeek, is resonating - and that's the whole point.

If you've been following along, the script I wrote with @jamestabeek (based on my experience with my parents, and his with his father) about the time in your life when you parent your parents is deep in development. Well, things are MOVING with What They Left Us. 🥰

First off, look at our poster!!! We did a photo shoot at the end of last year and our director, @justingiddings, designed this. Thanks to Pamela Bautista at @Phiftycent for a great shoot! And to our producer @alphacfaye for coordinating the whole thing.

And….I'm so excited to welcome Toni D'Antonio and @ShakeTheTreeProductions to our producing team!

Here's the thing about this film: the right people keep finding it. When Toni read the script, she didn't just say "great project." She told me about her own parents. Her own story. And I knew.

That's how it's been from the beginning. Every person who's come on board has recognized their own family in this story. And that's exactly who I want making this film with me.

She also said it was one of the best scripts she had read all of last year. 🥳

Our business plan is almost done and our investor reach out begins soon.

I genuinely can't wait to share what's coming. 💛
