What do you say about one of the best days of your life so far? An amazing celebration and gathering thanks to the wonderful @wayfarertheaters @claytherealtor @elle.sahin and the nearly 100 people who attended. Friends and collaborators old and new who showed up for an hour of being inside my brain, for which I sincerely apologized. I felt encouraged, seen, heard and listened to and frankly, that’s a lucky day for an artist. Thank you to all my collaborators and friends who keep my life vibrant and interesting, and to my family for helping me navigate the craziness of a life in the arts. Grateful, overjoyed, a touch overwhelmed. Thank you to everyone who attended, and who supports my work in order to make it possible. #director #writer #creator #filmmaker 📸: @aarontlegg

Our script keeps getting some love. 🥳

*What They Left Us* - the screenplay I co-wrote with @JamesTabeek - is a Quarter Finalist at the Los Angeles Film Awards and an Official Selection at Florence Film Awards. 🎬

I'm not going to lie. Every time we get one of these laurels (four and counting), I well up. It's been such a long journey writing this script. And an even longer one living it.

As we approach investors and name talent, these recognitions mean everything. They're validation that the story is resonating. That we're on the right path.

This story keeps finding its people. 💛

Well this is a nice way to start the week. 🥳

What They Left Us is a Semi-Finalist at the International Indie Film & Screenplay Festival!

This script started as my way of processing the hardest years of my life. Now it's becoming a film.

Every bit of recognition reminds me this story, written by myself and @jamestabeek, is resonating - and that's the whole point.

More to come... 💛

If you've been following along, the script I wrote with @jamestabeek (based on my experience with my parents, and his with his father) about the time in your life when you parent your parents is deep in development. Well, things are MOVING with What They Left Us. 🥰

First off, look at our poster!!! We did a photo shoot at the end of last year and our director, @justingiddings, designed this. Thanks to Pamela Bautista at @Phiftycent for a great shoot! And to our producer @alphacfaye for coordinating the whole thing.

And….I'm so excited to welcome Toni D'Antonio and @ShakeTheTreeProductions to our producing team!

Here's the thing about this film: the right people keep finding it. When Toni read the script, she didn't just say "great project." She told me about her own parents. Her own story. And I knew.

That's how it's been from the beginning. Every person who's come on board has recognized their own family in this story. And that's exactly who I want making this film with me.

She also said it was one of the best scripts she had read all of last year. 🥳

Our business plan is almost done and our investor reach out begins soon.

I genuinely can't wait to share what's coming. 💛

And I wouldn't be a good producer if I didn't add - if you know anyone in MA who can support with locations, catering or in-kind donations OR investors who are actively looking for prestige drama film projects, let me know. 😬
