September 10, I get to celebrate 21 years of marriage with my best friend, my partner, my love, my wife, Ty. ❤️

But our story didn’t start 21 years ago.

We’ve been together for 25 years. A quarter of a century of growing together, dreaming together, building together, raising a family together, laughing, learning, overcoming challenges, celebrating victories, and becoming who we are today.

When I look back over these 25 years, I realize just how much LIFE we have experienced together.

We were young when this journey started. We didn’t know everything that life would bring our way. We didn’t know every mountain we would have to climb or every door God would open. We just knew we loved each other and were willing to keep walking forward together.

And here we are.

21 years married.

Through every season, you have been there. You’ve believed in me, challenged me, prayed with me, dreamed with me, built with me, and loved me through every version of myself.

We have built more than businesses, organizations, dreams, and ideas. We built a FAMILY. We built a LIFE. We built a story that I am incredibly grateful to call ours.

And after 25 years together, I can still say I choose you. (Hey Alexia play “I choose you baby”) 😄

I choose our friendship.
I choose our laughter.
I choose our dreams.
I choose growing older together.
I choose whatever God has for us next.

Ty, thank you for 25 incredible years of love and 21 beautiful years of marriage. Thank you for being my wife, my partner, the mother of our children, and the woman who has shared this crazy journey with me.

We’re not finished yet. I believe some of our greatest memories, biggest adventures, and best years are still ahead of us.

Happy 21st Anniversary, Ty. ❤️

So this happened this week…

I am truly honored and humbled to receive the Rookie of the Year Award from the Rotary Club of Vinings Cumberland.

This recognition means a great deal because it represents something bigger than me. It reflects what can happen when people from different backgrounds come together with one common purpose: serving others.

Through ARTportunity Knocks, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the life changing impact that happens when business leaders, nonprofits, educators, and community organizations unite to create opportunities for young people and families. Rotary embodies that same spirit of service above self, and I am grateful to be part of such an incredible organization.

Thank you to the members of the Rotary Club of Vinings Cumberland for your encouragement, leadership, and commitment to making our community stronger. I look forward to continuing this journey of service together and finding even more ways to create lasting impact.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad.

This is the only picture I have of the two of us together, and because of that, it means more to me than words can express. Just a few short years after this photo was taken, my dad passed away. What I would give for one more picture, one more conversation, one more hug.

Growing up where I did, I know a lot of people never had the blessing of a father who was truly present. But I did. My dad showed up. He was there. He loved, supported, and guided me. I never had to wonder if he cared because he made sure I knew.

Today, I’m grateful for every lesson, every sacrifice, and every memory. The older I get, the more I appreciate the gift of having a father who was involved in my life.

I miss you more than words can say, Dad. Thank you for being there, for loving me, and for helping shape the man I am today.

Happy Mother’s Day to our beautiful mother. ❤️

This has always been one of my favorite photos growing up. It used to hang in our house for years, and every time I looked at it, it reminded me of love, strength, family, and togetherness. That little baby in the suit is me, standing alongside my sisters Judy and Rhonda, with the woman who helped shape our lives sitting proudly in the center.

Today, although she is no longer here with us physically, her presence is still felt every single day. The way we love people, the way we treat others, the way we keep pushing through life with strength and compassion, all of it carries her fingerprints.

Mom, thank you for the sacrifices you made, the lessons you taught without even realizing it, and the love you poured into us. Your influence still impacts our daily lives and continues to live through your children, and our children, and everyone you touched.

I miss you deeply, but today we celebrate you. Your legacy did not end, it continues through us.

Finally made it to visit the @nmaahc and see the display for Dilla @officialjdilla It was great to see someone from our neighborhood in Detroit be recognized in the Smithsonian for his contribution to not just #hiphop but music as a whole. @madukesofficial thank you for what you do behind the scenes to keep his legacy alive. @t3slum you all made history with @officialslumvillage I remember those early days. Yesterday, I had the honor of being inducted into the Rotary Club.

It’s a moment I don’t take lightly. Rotary was founded in 1905 with a simple but powerful idea. Professionals coming together to build friendship and use their influence for service. What started with four business leaders in Chicago has now grown into a global network of over 1.4 million members committed to doing good in their communities and around the world.

One of the things shared today was the Rotary’s role in helping eradicate polio globally. Through decades of persistence and partnership, they have helped reduce polio cases by more than 99 percent worldwide. That is what sustained service looks like. That is what collective impact looks like.

As I stood there being inducted, I could not help but reflect on my own journey. Starting programs from a second bedroom in my apartment. Serving youth and families when resources were low but purpose was high. Building organizations rooted in service, opportunity, and community partnership.

Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self. That has been the heartbeat of my life and work for years. Whether through Artportunity Knocks, mentoring young creatives, or building businesses designed to impact others, the mission has always been bigger than me.

This induction is not just a title. It is a commitment. A commitment to lead with integrity, to serve with excellence, and to use every opportunity to strengthen the community around me.

Grateful for the journey. Grateful for the alignment. And excited for what we can build together.
