Meet Echo, one of our certified patrol dogs! 🐾

Ski patrol dogs are highly trained canine heroes, that are used for mountain rescues and general mountain safety, capable of riding lifts, snowmobiles, and helicopters to help locate humans buried under the snow using their powerful sense of smell. ⛑️⛷️ we’re proud of our patrol dog teams and all of the work they do to help keep our communities safe!

While they are cute and fluffy, please remember the patrol dogs are working dogs, and give them plenty of room on the slopes and always ask before approaching ❤️

If you’re interested in learning more about our dog teams and how you can support them, please click the link in our bio. taken in Palisades Tahoe by @alpinepatroldogs

Scholarship time is here! These scholarships provide financial assistance for any avalanche education opportunities taking place in 2026, one to a professional in the industry and one to someone looking to expand their back country knowledge and skills. Our goal is to help more people access high-quality avalanche education and build safer habits in the winter backcountry.

The application form is linked in our bio, it only takes about ten minutes to apply, and we encourage anyone who has been considering taking back country courses and maybe hesitated due to cost, to fill it out and give it a shot!
