Trying to do everything in your art practice and feeling burnt out? Same. 🙋‍♀️

I once made collage cards, jewelry, huge canvases, acrylics — all of it. And the more I tried to appeal to everyone, the more I lost *myself*.

This week in my newsletter Creative Curiosities, I talk about what happens when you stop chasing sales and start creating from the heart instead. Spoiler: it changes everything.

✨ Creative Curiosities is a free weekly newsletter for artists and makers — reflections on the creative process, practical tips, plus upcoming classes and events.

This afternoon, I finally got to learn from my dear friend @alpj511 after many years of friendship! Painting side by side with Aleta, learning techniques and methods of meditative art-making I’ve never tried before was both inspiring and soothing, curiosity-sparking and calming. Watching Aleta’s brushstrokes and lines was mesmerizing, and I learned so much from her in this wonderful window of time. Thank you, friend, for sharing your talent and heart with me and always reminding me that engaging our creativity isn’t about perfection, but about the exploration itself. It was just what I needed to tap into creative rest. 💛
