A rare collaboration born from the Brewer archive. This 70s-era Dick Brewer pintail template was hand-selected from the archive by artist and shaper Alrik Yuill, 3D-scanned and precision-cut via CNC to produce a finish-cut blank faithful to the original outline and rocker. Alrik then shaped the board by hand — channeling Brewer’s signature entry rail transition all the way back to the tail tip, and finishing with a traditional V bottom. Bob Simmons, one of our greatest influences in the evolution of the surfboard in our modern era. Still, “what is time to a photon?” a tribute to the essence of gliding a wavelength. As history of this time for me is relative to the imaginings of my personal perspective.. while I was working on this there was a feeling of that era, and the eras before lost to history, the spirit lives.
