What an amazing opportunity to attend @rebeccasprivateidaho this year. Truly a one of a kind race full of technical, grueling and spectacular terrain.

After the first two stages I was sitting in second place with a time gap of around 10 minutes. I knew my race had to go perfect if I had any chance of stealing the top step from @rachelmcb

My race went exactly to plan, pacing myself up the first climb I found myself chasing a group two or three miles up the road on the first decent. I gave it everything to catch and in the process pulled some other straggling riders up to form a group that worked together almost all day with perfect cohesion.

I was convinced Rach was going to catch me going up the last climb, not knowing the array of technical difficulties they had throughout the day, and gave it my all. I am very proud of my time and I pushed to my absolute limit.

Without the @begoodfoundation this journey would not have been possible and I extend my deepest gratitude for supporting me to be here and compete at the highest level. Grateful for all the friends I made and I hope to see everyone next year!

More exploring lately!

Really excited to take my rig to @rebeccasprivateidaho this weekend and throw my hat in the ring!

I’ve always wanted to partake in this unique race and its format, 3 days of racing over 4 days sounds just like my cup of tea. Excited to feel what Idaho dirt is like under my tires and get my handmade racing machine out for the first time this year!

Been a long season dealing with injury but I am stoked to line up in Idaho and see what these legs can put down. by @always.li.king

@Always.li.king doesn’t just ride bikes—they build them, race them, and redefine what representation in cycling can look like. As a proudly trans, non-binary athlete, Li is showing up and showing out to prove that inclusivity belongs at the sharp end of racing.⁠

Last year, Li won the non-binary category at @midsouthgravel, bringing the speed, strategy, and thrill that make racing so electric. This year, they planned to compete in the Pro Non-Binary field—until the race was canceled. Now, they’re setting their sights on Rebecca’s Private Idaho, not just to race hard, but to make space for others to follow.⁠

“I want to show that non-binary athletes deserve space in high-level racing—we have what it takes to make the field competitive and exciting.”⁠

Li is also a custom frame builder—riding and racing on bikes they’ve built themselves. Their journey is one of power, creativity, and unapologetic visibility. “I’m a proudly trans athlete competing at the highest level. I can show trans people deserve the right to exist—and that we show up to kill it.”⁠
