BABY BOY ALSOP COMING DECEMBER 2026! 🩵💙

we will be moving to Madrid with a new addition to our family and are so excited for this new journey! we are so grateful and thankful to see our family grow. Milo and Piggy are also so excited to add a baby brother to their pack 🎉

This time has been very bittersweet with my mom’s health declining and knowing she won’t remember having a grandbaby but I am so thankful we are still able to celebrate with her; even though she doesn’t remember it. I am also so excited for my dad to become a grandparent - he has always dreamed of it 🫶🏻 and lastly, to my husband; he will be an amazing father and I can’t wait to see him thrive in his new role 😍

EXCITING life update in the Alsop household 🙌🏻

we’ve shared this on FB and on our business page, so it is time to drop the exciting update here too!

We are moving to MADRID 🇪🇸🇪🇸

never in a million years did we think we would have the opportunity to move to Spain and this is something we just can’t pass up! We have always dreamed of living in Europe and that dream is becoming a reality 😍 this has also been an incredibly long journey that we are excited to finally share - what originally was supposed to be Berlin last year has finally come to fruition with a slight city change to Madrid🍷 we plan on living in Madrid for the next few years and seeing where this adventure takes us with the ultimate goal of moving to Berlin one day 🇩🇪

while we have a few months left in OKC, we are busy getting ready for our move. (consolidating our stuff, painting, house repairs, etc). But you’ll still see us out and about around OKC for a bit and we plan to fully document our journey of moving abroad 🤪

If you’re in OKC let’s hang before we move and if you’re seeing this in Madrid, we’d love to connect 🫶🏻🫶🏻

one of my favorite things about where we live is the classic and old restaurants that are just a couple of steps away! There are so many bars and spanish restaurants that we are determined to try them all and find our favorite dishes at each one! 🙌🏻😍

Los Gatos is one of our favorites - it’s lively and they have a great menu with some excellent dishes to share 🍤 in the evenings, especially on the weekends, this place is so packed and people overflow in to the sidewalk and street 🍷

Our favorite dish here? Russian Salad! 🤤 a classic Spanish dish made with potatoes, carrots, egg, tuna, olives, peas, mayo, and of course olive oil! Typically served with cracker or bread, but also so good on its own! I personally am not a fan of tuna, but somehow it just works in this dish and Los Gatos seasons the salad so well that it is just so flavorful and I can’t stop eating it 🫣

we found this shop wandering around the neighborhood about two weeks ago and absolutely fell in love! Unfortunately they have now closed and the cafe has a new name/owners - so we will have to check it out! 🫶🏻

the cappuccinos were so smooth and silky and rich. and the chocolate banana bread was what dreams are made of! I love that almost every coffee shop in Madrid has banana bread - I really didn’t think I would be seeing it very frequently, but it is everywhere and one of my favs!! OFC I do love the PB Chocolate Banana Bread I bake at home, but it’s so fun to treat yourself and taste other bakers versions 😍😍

over the weekend we went to a wonderful dinner with friends at Pomo! We were enjoying the company and atmosphere so much that this is the only picture I ended up snapping 🫣

What We Ate:
•Milanese Mushrooms 🧄 - 10/10 these were incredible. a breaded and crispy mushroom that was still so tender with a parmesan mayo and plenty of cheese on top. Do not skip this dish!
•Carbodoro 🍳 - 9/10 this is a popular app that is all the goodness of carbonara stuffed in a fluffy, bun. it’s molten in the center and so creamy and flavorful
•Focaccia 🥖 - 9/10 loved the crunchy exterior and fluffy inside with tons of herbs on top!
•Cannelloni 🍝 - 10/10 pasta stuffed with duck, with a cream sauce and marsala jus. this was packed with flavor and I wish my husband let me have more than one bite lol
•Margherita Pizza 🍕 - 8/10 i loved the sourdough crust but I do wish the bottom was a little crispier. the flavors were really solid but I needed it to be cooked a bit more

overall this place has some incredible dishes from starters to pastas to pizzas! We’ve had a few italian spots in Madrid, and this is for sure at the top of our list for flavors and authenticity 😍 if you’re headed there, i’d try to make a reservation as they do get pretty crowded!

Mune is one of my favorite restaurants in Madrid hands down! So for my birthday this year, my husband treated me to a wonderful dinner there 😍 the food is always so flavorful and the menu has so much to choose from. Literally every time we eat here we always over order because we just want to try it all and can never decide because everything is spectacular!

This time though, we noticed a Tasting Menu being offered for €40 per person and ofc we said yes please! No decision making for us and we got to try some new dishes and some favs 🙌🏻

•Fatush - this is one of my all time favs here. the freshness, crunchiness, and tanginess come together so well
•Tabule - personally I’m not a fan and never have been of tabule because of the mint; but it wasn’t too overpowering and the pomegranate seeds added a good balance

•Mezze Dips - Hummus, Muhamara, Mutabal. Served with crispy and fluffy pita for dipping. The hummus is so silky and smooth, the muhamara is always one of my favorites with the roasted red peppers, and the mutabal is a luscious eggplant dip. It’s too hard to pick a fav, so I like to triple dip in one go

•Kibbe - stuffed with minced meat and pine nuts. these were my husband’s fav thing of the night!
•Falafel - we know them and we love them and these were crispy on the outside but still soft inside
•Rakayak - salty cheese rolled up and fried and then topped with zaatar - like a better mozzarella stick if i’m honest
•Fatayer de Acelga - another cheesy bomb with blanched chard, sumac, and lemon. almost like a spinach spanakopita but maybe better

•Shrimp Fatteh - a dish we had never tried because the sound of shrimp and yogurt doesn’t hit with me but OMG. this was my fav dish of the night. tangy yogurt on top of roasted eggplant and crispy pita then topped with shrimp and pine nuts. the textures and flavors here were unreal and the only thing I hated was having to share with my husband

•Kafta - so much flavor and the garlic sauce makes it somehow even more delicious. Pro tip: save some hummus and muhamara and pita to make a lil wrap situation

Monday’s in the 3rd trimester feel a little bit harder and I’m a little more exhausted these days! One of my favorite things about where we live in Madrid, is the number of coffee shops within a 10minute walk 😍🙌🏻 I like to treat myself at least once or twice a week with a fun coffee and pastry (it’s like a reward for doing errands 🤪)

OSOM is a speciality coffee shop just up the street and I love their fun, unique lattes that they offer. They also have iced lattes which are my jam 🧋🧋my current favorite is their iced banana latte add dulce de leche and a slice of banana bread 🍌🍌 ya just can’t go wrong with banana when it is done right! For me, their speciality lattes are on the more expensive side (which I completely understand with the ingredients and quality), but for me they are a once in a while treat vs an every day coffee shop! Their latte is really good - smooth, not overly sweet, and well balance 😘

if there is one thing the Spanish do really well (aside from wine ofc) is the Spanish Tortilla! There are so many varieties (from gooey to firm) and almost every bar and spanish restaurant will have it on their menu! 🙌🏻

Pez Tortilla specializes in only the tortilla with unique varieties to try! They also have locations all around and have truly perfected the tortilla. We popped in for a snack in between errands and exploring and were blown away by the flavors and textures 😍

We tried the Original, which was so gooey and luscious on the inside but still had an exterior shell to it. It is one of the best classics we’ve tried. The Tomato Basil blew us away though because of how much flavor it had 🍅 I could have eaten a whole tortilla, not just a slice 🤪

it is the perfect snack, breakfast, or lunch so make sure to grab a slice or two 🍳

one thing about me is I will never say no to hotpot and I will absolutely over order 😅 there is just something so comforting about the warm, flavorful broth with all the meats and veggies and the perfect dipping sauce that makes it such an underrated meal 😍

moving to Madrid, my husband and I have been on the hunt to find our favorite restaurants and when we saw this spot, we immediately had to try it! They serve an à la carte style hotpot, but do have some set menus for lunch if you don’t know what to get! Of course we had to order a bunch of items and by the end my poor husband was finishing everything alone because my pregnant stomach was passed the full line 🙃

it’s taco tuesday 🙌🏻 although i’ll take tacos any day of the week, especially if they are as delicious as Takos al Pastor 🤤 my favorite is their Al Pastor, but i’ve never had a taco here that I didn’t like! Not only are their tacos delicious, but they are super inexpensive and filling! Ngl, this entire plate was for me 🤣 pregnancy hunger is no joke and hubby knew he better not dare touch my tacos!

casa dani is one of those spots that is always packed and for good reason! It’s located inside the Mercado de la Paz, towards the back. It has both bar seating, tables, and to go options so even if the line seems long, it usually goes pretty quick. They are most well known for their Spanish Tortilla but don’t sleep on their other dishes 😍

If you aren’t familiar with a Spanish Tortilla, it is a creamy potato and egg dish that’s like a combination of an omelet and a quiche but the eggs are so creamy and cooked until just set! There are also a number of additions you’ll find such as chorizo, onions, jamon and more 🍳🙌🏻

definitely add Casa Dani to your must try if you’re in Madrid for the most delicious breakfast, lunch, or snack 🤤

Madrid takes brunch very seriously and I love all the options in the city! A lot of places also offer weekend brunch menus that include a coffee, orange juice (sometimes even a mimosa), a pastry, and your choice of brunch dish for a set price! It’s hard not to go out to brunch every weekend with all the amazing options 🤤🙌🏻

Nomade, one of our favorite brunch spots is tucked away in Centro, near the Anton Martin Market 😍 they offer brunch basically every day of the week! It has limited seating so make sure you go early to secure a table! Their menu focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients and each dish packs so much flavor (you may see some dishes rotate or change for seasonality)! Every time we visit Madrid, this is our first stop and I’m so lucky we live just a 10minute walk from here now to enjoy it all the time!
