Some seasons of life feel heavier than we expected. The kind where you’re doing your best, but still wondering when things will finally feel a little easier.

I’m learning that maybe I don’t need to understand every part of it right now. Maybe I just need to keep moving gently, take things one day at a time, and trust that the hard moments won’t last forever.

Tonight we’re celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most meaningful holidays in Chinese culture. 🥮

I love that this holiday is centred around something so simple but so important: family, togetherness and making time to come together.

The festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is traditionally at its fullest and brightest. The full moon represents reunion and completeness, which is why families often gather for a meal, share mooncakes and spend time admiring the moon together.

For me, I think that’s what makes traditions so special. They give us a reason to slow down, learn about where traditions come from, and create memories with the people we love.

One of our favourite little adventures this summer was Victoria Butterfly Gardens! We spent the afternoon wandering around looking at all the butterflies flying around us, flamingos, turtles, frogs, birds, koi fish and SO many creepy crawlies.

The kids were on a mission to find every single bug and animal they could, and I loved watching their excitement around every corner.

Definitely adding this to our Vancouver Island summer favourites!

As an actor, there are always going to be days where you get in your head and convince yourself you completely tanked a callback.

You replay your choices constantly in your mind. Every little moment you wish you could do differently.

And then you remind yourself… you don’t get to control what happens after you walk out of the room. You can only show up, do your best, and leave it there.

Some auditions lead to a booking. Some don’t. Some surprise you.

Now, if only I could convince my brain of that part. 🤣

If you know me, you KNOW how much I love my @bluejays ⚾️

And somehow, here we are again… right in the middle of another playoff race. After the absolute roller coaster that was last season and getting to experience that World Series ride, I’m so ready!

There’s just something about being a Jays fan. The highs, the heartbreak, the late nights, the “PLEASE JUST GET ONE MORE OUT” moments… and then celebrating like we personally won the game. 😂

We’re SO close to that final Wild Card spot, and after everything this team has been through, I’m holding onto every bit of hope. 💙

Last year was unforgettable. Now let’s see if we can make a little more history.

A little piece of our history in the heart of Victoria 🏮🤍

Fan Tan Alley is one of Victoria’s most iconic historic spots. This narrow alley in Chinatown was once the heart of a bustling Chinese Canadian community, filled with shops, businesses and gathering places. Today, it’s the narrowest commercial street in Canada and a beautiful reminder of the Chinese heritage woven into Victoria’s history.

For our family, walking through Fan Tan Alley felt especially meaningful because Chinese heritage is part of our own family story. It was so special to learn more about the community and the history that helped shape this city.

And of course, we had to stop at @fantanhomeandstyle and pick up some Jellycats.
