When I launched Solenne, I was navigating my way through an auto immune condition, being laid off from my previous job, freshly postpartum, and struggling with PPD.

I didn’t know what direction I was headed. When my son would sleep, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I’d stare at him for hours just to make sure he was still breathing. I was spiraling. I struggled to find self love and anxiety and intrusive thoughts occupied my mind. I decided I needed to fill my time during naps and at night.

The one thing I knew I loved doing and experimenting with was fragrance. I originally started making fragrances for myself years before so that I was wearing something phthalate and paraben free. I remembered the love I had for it and leaned into that as my creative outlet. I began bottling the happiest moments of my life, then some of the saddest, then sometimes the moments inbetween.

I had no expectations with launching Solenne. My goal was to connect with even just one person through fragrance. Little did I know I was finding my calling and creating something I’d be proud to one day hopefully pass on to my son. In a way, Solenne saved my life.

Life has a habit of putting us through the hardest moments before delivering us to the best ones. If you needed a sign today to keep going, that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, or that your purpose is just waiting for you around the corner, here it is. 🤍
