Knox 2.0 loading ⌛️. The grit, unrelenting drive, and pure love for the game despite adversity that this kid has shown as a young man and ball player has shown in the last month is not something I never thought possible of a 13 year old. Proud is not a strong enough word. Knox’s freshman summer ball debut ended as fast as it started Wednesday night. Unfortunately, he took a bad slide into 2B and hyperextended his thumb. He was clearly in intense pain, waved off coach, refused to leave the base paths, and made it home to score through 2 batters despite what would be a displaced proximal phalanx fracture of the right thumb. He was deeply upset when I pulled him from his team for an ER visit. He of course is devastated, but remains positive, focused, and obsessed with the pursuit of baseball excellence. Thank you coaches, family, and friends who have supported and guided him through this time.
