Today all of us remember.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of creating multiple murals at the World Trade Center @wtc with @trap.if

To make art in this place has always meant something very personal to me. It is a place that holds tremendous loss, but also resilience, connection, love, and the determination to keep moving forward.

As an artist, I believe that art can carry memory. It can help us remember, heal, connect, and tell stories that should never be forgotten.

I’m grateful that my work has been part of this place and its continuing story and honoring all the lives that perished on this day 25 years ago.

Today, I remember all those who were lost, those who survived, and everyone whose lives were forever changed.

Never forget. ❤️

Four years ago, @meridianintl @next_level_usa and the U.S. State Department sent me to Tel Aviv as an Arts & Cultural Ambassador.

What followed wasn’t just a trip. It was a homecoming.

Seven generations deep. This land is in my blood like so many others.

I Belong Here wasn’t just a mural. It was a declaration.

For every woman told she doesn’t fit. Every immigrant who arrived somewhere new and had to claim their space. Every native who no longer feels welcome in their own home.

We painted it on a wall in Jaffa with the community @ennis_jaffa in collaboration with @peyton_scott_russell

Art heals. Art unites. This is why I do it. 🖤

A wall can hold a whole community’s dreams. 🎨

At Brooklyn Community Arts & Media High School @bcamhs this mural celebrates education, leadership, and the power of young people to shape their futures.

The graduates represent possibility. The woman with the megaphone represents the courage to speak up, challenge the status quo, and imagine something better.

As an artist and educator, I’m drawn to public art that does more than decorate a space. I want it to spark conversation, reflect the people who live and learn there, and remind us that our voices matter.

Art belongs in our everyday lives. And our walls can tell stories about who we are and who we hope to become.

What would you want a mural in your community to say?

Alice Mizrachi is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist, muralist, educator, and longtime contributor to the city’s hip hop and arts community. Her work lives at the intersection of visual art, hip hop culture, and social engagement, using creativity as a powerful tool to connect people, inspire young minds, and build stronger communities. Alice has taken that mission beyond New York, serving as a U.S. cultural ambassador and contributing to international cultural exchange through initiatives like the U.S. Department of State’s Next Level program. By bringing hip-hop’s creative elements—including visual art, music, and cultural expression—into educational and community settings, she helps demonstrate that hip hop is much more than a genre. It’s a global language that can cross borders, bridge differences, and create opportunities for dialogue. From murals and public art to youth mentorship and international exchanges, Alice represents another essential side of hip hop culture: the artists and educators who preserve its roots while using its influence to create something meaningful for the next generation #hiphopculture taken in New York by @am_nyc

Some projects stay with you because they remind you why you do this work in the first place.

In 2021, I worked with @artbridge @pomonokresidentsassociation Houses in Queens on Faces of Our Community, a public art project celebrating the people and cultures that make up this neighborhood.

Through collage portraits, workshops, and community engagement, we created space for people to see themselves and their neighbors reflected in the arts. I also led a self-portrait collage workshop as part of the Pomonok House Festival, alongside fellow artists working in different mediums.

What I love about projects like this is that the artwork is only part of the story. It’s also about building relationships, creating opportunities for people to express themselves, and working with community organizations to make art accessible beyond traditional art spaces.

Over the years, my practice has grown to include not only making art, but also developing programs, building partnerships, mentoring emerging creatives, and bringing people together around shared ideas.

I believe the arts are essential to thriving communities—and that meaningful cultural work happens when artists, organizations, and residents have a seat at the table.

These are the kinds of collaborations I want to continue building.
Shout out to @tomboi.barbi for the assist and one of my nearest and dearest @foodstylistnewyorkcity also @msfigerouxnyc #christybenscome my fellow creatives for the day making magic happen

The art hustle is real. 🎨

After 25+ years as a creative, I’ve learned that making the work is only one part of the job.

There are grants to write, mural RFPs to apply for, exhibitions to pursue, residencies to find, partnerships to build, budgets to manage, artists to support, and programs to bring to life. There’s teaching, mentoring, speaking, collaborating, and constantly looking for new ways to bring more art into public spaces.

A big part of my practice has always been about bringing people together through art, creating opportunities for artists, young people, and communities to tell their stories, connect with one another, and see themselves reflected in the world around them.

As an artist, educator, career coach, and Executive Director and Co-Founder of Hudson Valley Mural Arts, I’m always thinking about how we can build stronger programs, create meaningful partnerships, and make the arts more accessible.

I’m sharing a few projects from my 2026 portfolio that reflect the work I love and the reasons I keep showing up.

There’s always more to make, more to learn, and more ways to create impact. ❤️

For @am_nyc , creating is about capturing a specific time, place, and feeling leaving a mark without judgment and allowing whatever exists in that moment to come through.

Much like graffiti, it becomes a declaration of presence: I was here. This is what I felt. This is what I needed to express.
