PRAY OVER THEIR GIFT AT FAMILY PRAYERS

Lord, thank You for this Kosi’s strong mind.
Help HER say
 “no” to wrong and
 “yes” to what is right.
Make HER a brave and kind leader.

Amen

🍋 Parenting handed me lemons…
❌ I squeezed harder: trying to control everything
❌ I polished the peel: trying to look good on the outside to please others.
❌ I threw them away: avoiding hard moments altogether

💛 The Holy Spirit showed me how to make lemonade:
✅ Add living water: invite God into the moment.
✅ Add sweetness: sow seeds that bear the fruits of the spirit
✅ Share the cup: Grace for me and my kids

The gift of the Holy Spirit turns my parenting from sour and strained to something life-giving. I do my part… He does the heart work.

Which “lemon” sours your day the fastest??!

Do you believe there’s anything like “healthy competition”

My husband and I had to meet mid point with me making these guideline for our son to be a part of it. Because everything we insert our children in must reflect the word of God. What do you think? by @amadasuns

I watched a video about the end times today and went back to Christ’s words.

“The love of many will grow cold.”

I strongly feel the enemy planted a seed that’s so deeply rooted we don’t see it.

I’m grateful for the veil removed.
I’m grateful for growth and learning to love better.

When the Bible talks about how provoking can discourage your child...this is what it looks like.

Everyday, we are by the help of God unlearning these things.

Which one was the most convicting? Share in the comments section.

Did you ever have a competitive friend??? Abundance parenting does not pretend scarcity doesn’t exist.

It teaches children how to respond to it
without fear shaping their character. by @amadasuns

Media is actively forming our kids’ beliefs about love, sex, power, friendship, and worth.
So we have to be just as active in shaping the mindset.

Not with one big “talk.”
With many small debriefs.

Have deep conversations.
Listen first.
Answer the question they actually asked.
Ask probing questions that teach discernment.

Do not put it off till tomorrow. Tomorrow becomes never.

OUR FAMILY RULE
We are practicing debrief during the credits.
(adopted from the book habits of the household)

Because that is when the lesson is fresh and the feelings are still on the surface. by @amadasuns

Have you noticed how fast “I disagree” turns into war online. I’ve been guilty of being triggered into fight mode…..
But this journey has helped me heal from saying those angry words out loud and leaving it only in my head 😅

It starts somewhere.
Don’t know how to handle these examples in these vices … Comment VIRTUES for what to do say/instead.❤️ by @amadasuns

A mum asked what if a child has already started👇🏾

DID YOUR PARENTS EVER TALK ABOUT THIS?

👉 Comment 👀 if your parents never did
👉 Comment 😎 if they did

📄 Want everything from the slides and this caption in one PDF
👉 Comment “PDF” (will be sent later, not immediately)

⸻

FIRST PAUSE DON’T PANIC 🧠

What generally helps is staying calm.

❌ Don’t interrogate
❌ Don’t threaten
❌ Don’t shame

Start with safety and honesty.

Say
“Thank you for telling me.”
“You’re not in trouble.”

⸻

ASK ONE CLEAR QUESTION 👇🏾

What generally helps is finding out where they are.

🗣️ “Do you want help stopping right now, or do you feel unsure?”

⸻

IF THEY WANT TO STOP 🤝

What generally helps is support without shame.

✅ Be the adult they can come to (accountability partner)
✅ Offer virtues that can replace the vice (list in PDF)
✅ Encourage honesty NOT perfection

⸻

IF THEY DON’T WANT TO STOP YET 🚦

What generally helps is curiosity rather than pressure.

This approach is called MI (Motivational Interviewing)
A psychology-based way to guide behaviour change without fear or shame
It’s often used for habits like smoking because change lasts longer when it becomes their choice

🗣️Say
“So right now you don’t feel ready to stop.”

📝Ask
“What do you like about it?”
“What do you not like about it after?”
“What do you want for yourself long term?”

Then gently guide
“This isn’t about shame.”
“It is about what is best for you.”
“Real freedom is being able to say no.”

Keep the door open
“If you ever decide you want help, you can ask.”
“No judgement. Just guidance.”

⸻

TRAIN SELF CONTROL OUTSIDE THIS TOPIC 💪🏾

What generally helps is practicing restraint in everyday life.

Practice it through
• delaying a favourite snack
• saving for a goal
• pausing before impulse
• finishing tasks before fun

Small choices build strength for bigger ones later. (Full list in self control pdf)

📖 “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.”
Proverbs 25:28

PRAY FOR STRENGTH AND WISDOM 🙏🏾
