Australian Nursing and Midwifery Journal Oct/Dec 2026.

Preserving placental transfusion while obtaining cord blood gases.

These two practices should not be viewed as competing priorities, as with a little practical consideration, both are feasible.

I am so privileged to be asked to speak in Istanbul at this wonderful conference, and to share the stage amongst such esteemed birth and worldly people. I listened to Stuart Fischbeins talk and it was amazing. He described what had happened to US midwifery and I was shocked to see how much it aligned with what is happening in the UK.

Tried this chat GPT caricature thing that everybody seems to be trying. Chat GPT pulls all the info it knows about you and creates a character.

I was expecting midwife/nurse etc, definitely not a mini skirted air hostess.
This is hilarious. 😂 by @amanda.burleigh

Get @reshare_app • @gototravel.jp Japanese toilets are truly something else 🚽✨
If you’ve ever visited Japan, you know: the toilets here aren’t just regular toilets..

We’re talking:
✅ Heated seats (life-changing in winter)
✅ Built-in bidets with adjustable pressure + warm water
✅ Deodorizer fans
✅ Privacy sounds (so no one hears anything)
✅ Touchless flushing & lids that open automatically 😳
✅ And yes… some even play calming music.

It’s one of the little luxuries of japan that will make you want to come back for them

Where to get them outside Japan?
You can actually buy Japanese bidet seats internationally now!
Brands like TOTO, Panasonic, and INAX offer models online. Look on Amazon, Home Depot, or dedicated import shops. Some luxury hotels outside Japan even install them as a premium feature.

🧻 But fair warning: once you get used to Japanese toilets, going back to “normal” feels…weird

Would you install one at home? Drop a 🚽 in the comments if you’re tempted and let us know about your ever first Japanese toilet experience 👀
