When we got the brief for Maltina Teacher of the Year, we knew we wanted to tell a story that felt authentic, human and far from generic. Maltina introduced us to Esom, who has the most inspiring story. Our job was to capture the history, resilience and impact behind that journey, while using it to announce the search for the next exceptional teacher. More than creating a campaign spot, we wanted to tell a story that could live beyond the campaign itself. Something evergreen, inspiring and rooted in a real journey. Truly enjoyed directing this campaign. From the first time I read the script, I was inspired by what it was trying to say and especially how it chose to say it. The words felt important then, and with some of the conversations, realities and recent happenings around us, they still feel incredibly relevant today. That was probably one of the things I loved most about working on MsRepresented: Representation Matters. It wasn’t just about creating a beautiful film, it was about contributing to a conversation that genuinely matters. I also truly enjoyed making this with my team @amapsalmistvisuals From prep to shoot to putting all the pieces together, this was one of those projects where the process itself was really fulfilling. Loved seeing everyone, from everyday people to honourables, powerful women, thoughtful men and children, lending their voices to this important conversation. Grateful to @wilanglobal and @capitalfilmng for trusting us with it, and to everyone who lent their voice and presence to the campaign. Still very proud of this one.
