It’s Fall Y’all, and our new seasonal menu agrees!

Check out our Swede Hill Meatballs, now with cured chayote squash and crispy sunchokes, anchored in a white wine leek cream. Red currant as always.

The best wine to pair with these is our 2022 Hirschy Pinot Noir, for a classic Oregon taste that brings you straight into autumn.

🍷 Oregon Wine Series | Ep. 12 — Part 2

🏆 Amaterra was named the No. 1 Best Winery Restaurant in America by the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. So, what makes the experience stand out? 🍷✨

In Part 1, we went behind the scenes with winemaker Morgan. This time, we’re exploring what happens on the other side of the glass. 🥂

My tasting flight featured the 2023 Chardonnay, 2022 Pinot Noir, and 2022 Éclater. The Chardonnay was a standout for me, while the Éclater brought a bold, powerful presence of its own.

I also tried the West Coast Artisan Cheese culinary board, which was pretty good! 🧀

And as if the tasting experience wasn’t enough, I got to catch a release party, adding even more excitement to the visit. ✨

Because a memorable winery experience is about more than the wine. It’s the food, the atmosphere, and the people who bring it all together.

What does winemaking actually look like behind the scenes?

At @amaterrawines , Morgan gave me a look beyond the tasting room—from bottling and pressing to all the monitoring and frequent checks that go into making the wine we eventually pour into our glasses.

One thing I wish more people understood? 🍇

We romanticize winemaking, but there’s A LOT of logistics behind it. It’s constant monitoring, checking, adjusting and paying attention to the details.

I also learned that gravity flow is a big part of Amaterra’s winemaking ethos. The goal is to preserve the characteristics of the fruit while giving guests more opportunities to learn about the process.

And Morgan has a few projects she’s especially excited about right now 👀

Their Sauvignon Blanc, which they first made last year, is back for another vintage—and there’s also an ongoing Carbonic Pinot project.

This is exactly why I love exploring Oregon wine country. There’s always more to learn once you look beyond the glass. 🍷

The kind of fall day you hope for when you choose an October wedding in Oregon. Golden sun, leaves beginning to turn bright colors, crisp air, and that warm golden light that somehow makes everything feel magical.

And then there was the wedding itself.

Every part of this day felt deeply thoughtful. I think that’s one of my favorite things about a beautifully designed wedding. The details can be incredible, the setting can be breathtaking, everything can look like it belongs in a magazine, but the real luxury is how all of that intention creates space for you to actually be there. To be present in it all.

To linger over dinner. To watch the sun disappear behind the hills. To laugh with the people who flew across the country to sit at your table. To sneak away together for ten minutes in the last bit of golden light and think, “wow, this is our wedding.”

Beautiful things, yes. But beautiful things in service of a really meaningful experience. Oregon wine country in October, you are very hard to beat. 🍷✨

Our dessert menu just got a seasonal makeover. While the Sweet Corn Brûlée is only here as a special (and you don’t want to miss it, get it while you can!), the others are here to enjoy all season.

Our pastry team loves a creative challenge, and this fall, we really wanted to put out new twists and ideas on our classic desserts. We won’t judge you if you come in just for one of these and a glass or two of wine.

You’ve heard of a First Fruit Celebration? Yesterday, we had a Last Fruit Celebration!

It’s true, we are all in for fruit! Our final grapes were our very own 777 Swede Hill Pinot noir. Does this mean harvest is over? Not quite… we still have plenty to do, but we are so proud of our production team and all the hard work that they’ve put into this vintage!
