In awe of the views at Amaterra Winery in Portland! Sarah & Eric’s ceremony took place in a sunny day on the patio overlooking the vineyard and out into Beaverton. Special shoutout to my second shooter @hankat.photo for getting the birds eye view from upstairs!

Rooting this decadent design is the location it unfolds within. The fruit and wines of the Amaterra vineyard weave their way through the invitation suite, deeply hued florals and rich textures.

Full of the drama, comfort and sophistication a glass of red wine provides, this scene offers up wedding day inspiration full of flavor, perfect for modern romantics planning their celebrations for the chillier months.

Best friend time in Portland 🤍✨

A feast for the senses at @shalomyallpdx, a relaxing spa escape at @ritzcarltonportland, perusing @cityhomepdx where shopping feels like an art gallery, and a stop at @providorepdx for fresh shrimp, wild-caught salmon and greens for homemade sinigang (IYKYK!).

We stopped for charcuterie and delicious mocktails at @amaterrawines , where we got to witness a sweet little wedding on a perfect sunny day.

Next, a charming train ride from Portland Union Station, pretend play with train sets and my favorite parts: a little bff angel moment and when Quincy declared it was “The best day!” 🥹.

Last night in PDX we went on a sunset stroll at Mt Tabor Reservoir… Squeezing in as much as we could as we always do. Grateful for time with, Pia. Fittingly, Pia means love. I love you, dear friend. 💛

🍷 Oregon Wine Series | Ep. 12 — Part 2

📍 @amaterrawines

🏆 Amaterra was named the No. 1 Best Winery Restaurant in America by the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. So, what makes the experience stand out? 🍷✨

In Part 1, we went behind the scenes with winemaker Morgan. This time, we’re exploring what happens on the other side of the glass. 🥂

My tasting flight featured the 2023 Chardonnay, 2022 Pinot Noir, and 2022 Éclater. The Chardonnay was a standout for me, while the Éclater brought a bold, powerful presence of its own.

I also tried the West Coast Artisan Cheese culinary board, which was pretty good! 🧀

And as if the tasting experience wasn’t enough, I got to catch a release party, adding even more excitement to the visit. ✨

Because a memorable winery experience is about more than the wine. It’s the food, the atmosphere, and the people who bring it all together.

Now tell me: are you reaching for the Chardonnay or going bold with the Éclater? 🍷👇

What a beautiful night for St. Maria’s Home!

On September 10, our community gathered at @amaterrawinery for our Building Hope Gala, an evening filled with faith, hope and incredible generosity. Together, we raised more than $150,000 to help bring Portland’s only Catholic maternity home to life.

We are so grateful to David and Margaret Bereit for joining us and sharing such an inspiring message. Margaret shared stories of transformation from her years serving mothers and their children at Mary’s Shelter in Virginia, reminding us that there is a proven and successful way to walk alongside women who need support, stability and a place to call home.

We also heard from Marie Barzen about the heart and beginnings of this mission, Helen Heller about the vision and goals for St. Maria’s Home, and Claire Anctil-Cathey, who shared a reflection on motherhood and the importance of surrounding women and their children with meaningful support.

It was especially beautiful to have over 200 friends and supporters from parishes throughout the @archdpdx gathered together in support of this mission, along with six of our local priests. We were also grateful to Fr. Eric Andersen for opening the evening in prayer.

Thank you to every guest, sponsor, volunteer, speaker and friend who made this evening possible. We are so grateful for this community and look forward to sharing updates as we continue bringing St. Maria’s Home to life.

St. Maria Goretti and St. Joseph, pray for us!

🍷 Oregon Wine Series | Ep. 12 — Part 1

📍@amaterrawines

What does winemaking actually look like behind the scenes?

At @amaterrawines , Morgan gave me a look beyond the tasting room—from bottling and pressing to all the monitoring and frequent checks that go into making the wine we eventually pour into our glasses.

One thing I wish more people understood? 🍇

We romanticize winemaking, but there’s A LOT of logistics behind it. It’s constant monitoring, checking, adjusting and paying attention to the details.

I also learned that gravity flow is a big part of Amaterra’s winemaking ethos. The goal is to preserve the characteristics of the fruit while giving guests more opportunities to learn about the process.

And Morgan has a few projects she’s especially excited about right now 👀

Their Sauvignon Blanc, which they first made last year, is back for another vintage—and there’s also an ongoing Carbonic Pinot project.

This is exactly why I love exploring Oregon wine country. There’s always more to learn once you look beyond the glass. 🍷

And now that we’ve learned how the wine is made…

Let’s taste it. 👀

The kind of fall day you hope for when you choose an October wedding in Oregon. Golden sun, leaves beginning to turn bright colors, crisp air, and that warm golden light that somehow makes everything feel magical.

And then there was the wedding itself.

Every part of this day felt deeply thoughtful. I think that’s one of my favorite things about a beautifully designed wedding. The details can be incredible, the setting can be breathtaking, everything can look like it belongs in a magazine, but the real luxury is how all of that intention creates space for you to actually be there. To be present in it all.

To linger over dinner. To watch the sun disappear behind the hills. To laugh with the people who flew across the country to sit at your table. To sneak away together for ten minutes in the last bit of golden light and think, “wow, this is our wedding.”

Beautiful things, yes. But beautiful things in service of a really meaningful experience. Oregon wine country in October, you are very hard to beat. 🍷✨
