Over the last couple of weekends, we were privileged to document and highlight the stories of 6 individuals made up of pastors, stewards, and long standing members. The subject was Jacob Fontaine, whom started one of the first Black churches in Austin, and reflect on his legacy, and how it still impacts the history, stories, and traditions of Black churches in Austin today! It was great listening to all of the perspectives, and recording a piece of history to tell thousands more. It’s not enough to just have a vision, but you must put some execution behind it. It’s not enough to just have execution, but you have to build. It’s not enough to just build, but you must maintain. It’s not enough to just maintain, but you must be able to sustain what you have built. It’s not enough to just sustain, but you must grow. It’s not enough to just grow, but you have to build a stellar team (community)! Once you’ve built that stellar team, they must be able to see the vision. Once they see the vision, they will execute… Do y’all see the cycle repeating? When you start building the vision with a team it becomes a lot easier to tackle the tasks at hand, and achieve much bigger goals to successfully scale! The TexaPlex Black Music Forum is a celebration spotlighting the artists, culture, and industry leaders shaping the sound of Texas today. Designed as a statewide cultural experience, the series blends live conversations, music history, and industry education to honor the legacy of Black music in Texas while supporting the next generation of creators. On July 11th, the discussion was nothing short of AMAZING as participants filled the room to receive game, knowledge, and insight from some of the industry’s finest! The conversations were deep, the networking was synergetic, the music was rhythmic, and the performances from local artists were electric! @amaz1nmedia was not only there to witness the greatness, but to capture and broadcast it as well! I had the pleasure of visiting the historic @southernu_br campus and capturing some BTS action during their Annual Spring Game! From Marshawn Lynch watching from the sidelines, newly appointed Head Coach, Marshall Faulk coaching up his soldiers, to in-depth conversations and stories being shared, everything was captured, and a great time was had!
