🚨 Y'all... I made a video in Texas heat. 😂

If you know me, you know I'd rather be behind the scenes producing the event than on camera talking about it.

But I'm passionate about what we're building through the Texaplex Black Music Forum, so here I am. 😎

Now that I've done my part, go do yours. 😏

🎟️ Get your tickets and join us!

🎤 The conversations will be powerful. 🤝 The networking will be real.

🎤 Featured Fireside Chat: Mathew Knowles
🎙️ Moderator: Ogden Payne
🎵 Special Performance: Tony G. Copeland
📚 Book Signing: Rickey "Slikk Muzik" Offord
💡 Panelists: Mr. Boomtown & Dr. Charlie Mac

Been booked and blessed all week, so I haven't really had a chance to digest all the birthday love, but I can't express enough how I grateful I am for each and every person who came out to #LoveStories last Friday, or who sent love and prayers and well-wishes.

This time last year, I spent my birthday recovering from a bad case of strep throat, which would prove to be just one of many illnesses I experienced throughout the year. In this last year of life, I've learned to listen to my body, specifically my gut, and as I move with intention and surround myself with people and environments that lift me up rather than deplete me, I am once again pouring from a full cup...and I love that for me. 😊💙

Thanking God for growth and self love and community and family and sisterhood and empathy and prosperity, and wishing the same for you all.

Special thanks to everyone behind-the-scenes who helped make this show one of the most seamless and stress-free productions I've ever produced 🙏🏾

Took a last minute trip out to #Austin for a few hours after church yesterday to watch the #SXSW premiere screening of the #JerrodCarmichael Reality Show and catch up with our production team. Also ended up running into a bunch of my peeps at @culturehouseofficial from all different chapters of my life, including some old college friends...what a beautiful day 🙏🏾✊🏾💙

I write songs that help me access my Personal Power.

They are valuable tools for helping me navigate through the negative self-talk that used to bring me down and prevent me from living the life I want to live.

This song is called “Nobody’s Business” and the line “Ain’t nobody’s job to make you happy” reminds me that the power to live in joy is within me.

I’m developing tools to help people create their OWN SONGS to navigate through their negative self-talk so that they can live in their joy.

Let me know in the comments if a tool like that is interesting to you.

It was great making some new connections, as well as seeing some familiar faces for the first time in person at #CES2020! 🤩
