Pregnant with her first child, Leslie Jordan was diagnosed with preeclampsia in her third trimester. Devastated but determined, Leslie managed her diagnosis and eventually gave birth to a baby boy.

After delivering, Leslie started experiencing a terrible headache, and soon, her speech slurred and her body felt like it was on fire. Leslie suffered a stroke and woke up in the ICU paralyzed. Having to learn how to walk and talk again, Leslie’s perseverance was vital to her recovery.

Today, she wants women to know the signs and symptoms of stroke so they can give themselves the best chance of survival.

Leslie is a part of the Go Red for Women 2023 Class of Survivors.
