Strength is important. But strength alone isn’t the whole picture.
Medicine ball slams. Thrusters. Squat jumps.

We’re training more than muscles.

We’re building:
💥 Power — the ability to produce force quickly.

🎯 Coordination — getting the entire body working together.

💪 Strength — building the capacity to handle greater demands.

🦴 Bone health — using progressive resistance and appropriate impact to support stronger bones.

These qualities matter when you’re sprinting, jumping, changing direction, carrying groceries, catching yourself when you stumble, or simply keeping up with life.

Training isn’t just about what your body can do today. It’s about building the capacity to keep doing what matters to you.

At AMB, we don’t just build strength. We build capacity for life. taken in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania by @amb.pt

CASE STUDY: Using TECAR Therapy to Support Tissue Healing

A very active 92-year-old male strained his rotator cuff after a fall. At two weeks post-injury, our focus wasn’t on pushing through the pain, but it was on understanding what his body needed to heal.

We used TECAR therapy (high-frequency electromagnetic energy) with specific settings selected for his condition to support the healing process, then paired it with the right exercises and education around pain management and normal tissue-healing timelines.

The result? About 90% improvement within two weeks.

But TECAR wasn’t the whole answer.
The real power came from combining the right tool with the body’s own ability to heal. Through movement, progressive exercise, education, and giving the patient the skills and confidence to participate in his recovery.

The goal isn’t to rely on a tool. It’s to use the right tool at the right time to help your body do what it’s designed to do. by @amb.pt

Hypermobility can make it easy to go to the end of your range, but that isn’t the same as having support. In this clip I’m teaching a gymnast to find a stronger position without falling back into the patterns she’s used to.

That’s how we work. We don’t want to manage your pain or put a bandaid on the spot that hurts. We want to find what’s driving it, treat the full system, and build the strength and movement patterns that last.

If you’ve been told to just live with it, you don’t have to. Book a visit at ambphilly.com (link in bio).

Your running efficiency score shows how well your body handles the work of each stride.

When we shift load away from the spots that tend to get cranky and toward the muscles built to accept it and propel you forward, you get a smoother stride with less stress on your body.

One cue got us almost 5% better efficiency. Imagine what we could find in YOUR stride.

Our daily postures turn off our glutes.

Hours in the car, at a desk, on the couch, and the glutes quietly check out. If we don’t move the right way, or get the right cue to turn them back on, they stay off. Then we wonder why everyday things feel harder and more limited than they should.

The cue that makes this flow work: squeeze your glute and drive your hip forward. Don’t just lean back. If you lean back, the movement comes from your low back and your hip never gets into extension. Squeeze, drive forward, and you should feel it at the front of the hip.

5 moves, minimal equipment. Do it after a drive, after a long day at your desk, or as a warm-up before a run.
Save this for the next time you’ve been sitting too long.

Foot to Foot Friday: Rear Foot Edition

We spend a lot of time on big toe mobility and control, but the rear foot gets forgotten. Heel control matters every time you push off when you walk or run.

Try this: spread your toes, keep your big toe and pinky toe grounded, and move your heel in and out. Once that feels good, advance it by raising your heels and repeating.

You can see how limited my left big toe and heel are in the video. That affects how I run and my single leg hop, so I’m working on it too.

Give it a try and let me know how each side feels!

Want help figuring out what’s limiting your running or jumping? Book a movement assessment at the link in my bio.

TECAR Thursday: TECAR vs. shockwave vs. laser

There are a lot of recovery tools out there, so here’s how they compare (swipe for the full breakdown).

What it’s used for?

All three are used for pain and recovery. TECAR is a go-to for muscle, tendon, joint, and soft tissue problems, and it’s especially useful for active people and athletes.

Here’s why I love it, and what really sets it apart: you can move while it’s on. We can use Winback’s TECAR during Graston, tissue release, and needling, and even while you’re doing your exercises. It moves with the session, so you’re the star, not the machine.

At the end of the day, these are just tools that assist your recovery. If we don’t reinforce movement and exercise, you’ll fall short of your goals.

Because Winback’s TECAR moves with you, it’s my favorite way to combine hands-on work and movement in one session.

Curious if TECAR is right for you?

Tell Em In Two

Welcome back to the made-up, limited IG series, "Tell 'Em In Two".  We give local clinicians, movement specialists and people rocking it in the wellness world 2 minutes or less to tell us what they do.

Today we are kicking it with @amb.pt Julie DiPaolo DPT, OCS owner of Advanced Movement & Balance.

Julie has over 14 years of physical therapy experience.  She has a variety of treatment methods that include movement, dry needling, vestibular therapy, and TECAR therapy to name a few.  However, today we are here to learn about...

🚨Running Treadmill Analysis🚨

RunDNA Helix uses 3D camera technology to analyze your running mechanics, while Julie helps interpret what that data actually means for you.

It can help identify movement patterns that may be contributing to pain or increased injury risk, guide rehab and training, and find opportunities to optimize running performance and efficiency.

Better data.
More individualized plan.
Smarter running.

• Resolve neck + back pain driven by daily habits
• Rehab and prevent running injuries
• Address movement imbalances and compensations
• Build real strength + capacity so pain doesn’t keep coming back

Foot to Foot Friday 🦶🤣

New segment starting today.

Your feet are your first point of contact with the ground. That contact doesn’t just shape your athleticism, it shapes your posture and how your whole body moves for the rest of the day.

So each Friday I’ll be sharing simple things you can do to keep your feet doing their job well.

First up: toe spreaders.

I use these myself, maybe once every month or two. They give your toes room to spread out and actually work. Cramped, weak toes mean less stability under you, whether you’re standing at work all day or logging miles on a run.

Small habit, real payoff. More Foot to Foot Fridays to come. 🤣 the name of the segment gets me every time. taken in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania by @amb.pt
