Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! Every day I am reminded of how far I’ve come. From a shy little kid, to a veterinary professional..I have come a long way. Hitting a milestone birthday is something that I don’t take lightly because there was a point where I thought I wasn’t going to reach it. 2025 was BRUTAL to say the least. Cruel yet reformative. Thank you to everyone who has followed me on my journey this year. It means more than you’ll ever know. If my story helps one person, it’s worth it. And thank you God for carrying me through a year that challenged my heart. Next year is full of self respect, boundaries and faith! It has taken me several days to process this loss. When I was a little girl, I wanted nothing more than to be exactly like Jane Goodall. I read/watched anything that I could get my hands on. She was the first woman that I had ever seen within a STEM field. This woman had to fight to convince men that she deserved to be on the same playing field as them. Jane knew what she wanted and didn’t hesitate. As someone who personally advocates for animals, especially wildlife and someone who is within the animal science realm, Jane will always be my biggest inspiration. A true pioneer within the primatology sector, who taught me that I can do anything that a man can do and not only that, I can do it better. The chimps wouldn’t have made it without you. Rest in peace to the woman who started it all for me. Thank you for your years of animal advocacy, research, compassion and conservation. We will continue to fight for species who can’t speak up for themselves in your honor. “It actually doesn’t take much to be considered a difficult woman. As someone who has grown up within the metal community, it was all thanks to this man. This man defied almost every odd against him at such a young age. No one thought he was going to make it this far and not only did he defy those odds, he exceeded everyone’s expectations. We are losing the pioneers and it breaks my heart. There will never be another Ozzy. His death feels very personal to me because my dad also died from Parkinson’s. So I know how much that disease destroys a person, I witnessed it for years. And my dad was the man that raised me on Ozzy’s music. Thank you Ozzy for everything that you’ve indirectly done for me through your music. Prince of Darkness and THE GODFATHER OF METAL, you were no ordinary man. We’ll see you on the other side.🦇 🖤 by @amber.exner
