A story set in motion long before me, it was never a matter of if, but when.

A word spoken by many, understood by few.

To my forever family and the greatest brotherhood I could have ever dreamed of—thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the love, the laughter, the lessons, and the legacy.

To my 22—you are the greatest gift Howard could have given me. You’ve shaped my journey in ways words can’t fully capture. My time here would have been incomplete without you. You all have my heart, now and for the rest of time.

To my 23—watching you grow into your light and find your place in this organization has been one of my proudest joys. The future is so bright for each of you, and I can’t wait to witness everything you accomplish at Howard and beyond. You’ll always be my babies—forever and always.

Life does go on after organic chemistry— and mine is continuing as part of the 4.4% of Black female chemists. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every step.
