before becoming a mom, i deeply respected mothers. but after carrying, birthing, and loving my son, i see women in an entirely new light. the strength, sacrifice, intuition, resilience. the loss of everything you knew before. the wee hours of the night. the quiet, important work that makes the world go ‘round … it’s overwhelming. this work is the highest privilege and honor of my life.

after giving birth, i found myself sobbing just thinking about how powerful women are. i cried seeing my grandmother for the first time because suddenly i understood motherhood not just as love, but as legacy. as endurance. as the literal backbone upon which all of humanity rests. as something sacred passed from woman to woman. when you give birth, you go to a different realm. it’s indescribable. it’s the closest i’ve ever felt to God. and you come back changed in every way.

pregnancy and birth were hard. some days felt impossible. but i would do it all again a million times over, harder, longer, worse, if it meant getting my baby boy at the end of it.

motherhood has transformed me into someone softer and stronger at the same time. i trust myself more. i listen to my instincts. i’ve discovered a depth of selflessness and love i never knew existed.

and this mother’s day carries even more meaning because before my son, there was loss. i will never take this role, this child, or this love for granted. there’s so much more to say. but to all the mothers, grandmothers, hopeful mothers, grieving mothers, and women carrying more than the world sees… i see you. i honor you today. 🤍 by @amberaura

wildflower magic 🌼✨🌸

everyday, i find new pieces of myself in these flowers. when we moved here, i dreamt of being greeted by waves of color in front of our home and back at the entrance of the meadow. they say it takes 3 years for these beauties to really thrive, but our first season was its own kind of magic. ✨
