My husband is fitting into our new school community beautifully.

He joined the dad group.
He’s making friends.
They invite him out.
We even got invited to a VERY fancy 50th birthday party.

Meanwhile, I had never met the host’s wife before and this was our first text exchange.

Its been one hell of a week for me and a way worse couple weeks for my sister. Lots of bad stuff happened to her and her business and her cat rescue funds were taken as well. **“If you relate to imposter syndrome around receiving… same 😂🤍

I got so excited over a bag that ended up going missing. Lately I’ve been accidentally leaving my bags places, so I assumed this was another one — and it honestly hurt every time I thought about how easily I could lose something so expensive.

A little backstory: I grew up very minimal. Midwest single-mom life, four kids, stretch-every-dollar energy. We always had food and heat and I’m grateful for that, but there was definitely no silver spoon.

So even now, anything designer or “extra” gives me major imposter syndrome. I can spend on food or the things we need without thinking twice, but luxury? That’s rare.

My husband is the opposite — he shows love through giving. When the original bag disappeared he noticed and he surprised me with a new one. Not because I needed it, but because he genuinely wanted me to feel loved. 🤍

Not bragging but sharing a piece of my story and why moments like this hit a little differently for someone who grew up with very little. How can I work on not having the #povertymindset and lose feelings of guilt when my husband gives with love? #impostersyndrome by @ambermeade
