POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Recently, September 28, our Deputy Chair, Jane Windeyer, had the pleasure and honour, of representing us at the @zero2heroau Camp Hero LEADERSHIP, here in WA at Nanga Bush Camp.

Here, Jane spoke to the participants of Camp Hero about our journey, about youth mental health, and shared Amberly's own story and struggles—the reason behind Amby's Army.

One of the volunteers shared that, Jane was so well spoken, and that Amberly's story made such an impact on the people at the camp. Both Amberly and Jane seem like such awesome people. (We couldn't be more proud!)
--------
Camp Hero is a wonderful opportunity for young people 15-18, where over 5 days and 4 nights, they learn how to lead with confidence – in their school, team, community and own lives.

Every participant also completes safeTALK, a nationally recognised suicide prevention accreditation that teaches you how to help someone who may be thinking about taking their life. These are skills you can use for the rest of your life.

September marks international Suicide Awareness Month. This month we remember those we have lost to suicide, for us it was Amberly Jane Lynch (2005-2023), and is the driving force behind all we do, and hope to accomplish through Amby's Army.

Not only do we remember those who are gone, but we keep in our hearts and minds those who have ever attempted, thought of it, are generally struggling, or who have lost someone due to suicide.

Please know that help is out there, our website provides a list of resources available to those who are struggling, or know someone who is struggling. You are more than your struggles!

We are sending lots of love this month, from all those at Amby's Army.

OUT OF THE SHADOWS WALK - @lifeline_wa @lifelineaustralia
This year, we will be walking 9km on Sunday, September 13, as part of Lifeline's 'Out of the Shadows Walk'. This walk is part of their mission to raise funding to help Australians in crisis, as well as remembering those we have lost to suicide - World suicide day being September 10.

We will be walking in memory of Amberly Jane Lynch (2005-2023), a gorgeous soul gone too soon, who has inspired and motivated us to begin our cause, Amby’s Army.

We would love to have company while we take the 9km journey around the Swan River. See the post above for details.

If you would like to donate, please find the link in the linktree in our bio.

Today two of our members, Jane and Frances, had the honour and the privilege to attend, and meet with some incredible people and organizations, at the @zero2heroau In Your Head 2026 Youth Mental Health Forum. They also had the opportunity to share our story, where they were met with beautiful support and encouragement. Thanks Zero2Hero for holding this event.

Nicole Morante (She/Her) - General Member
Introducing Nicole Morante.
Nicole is a close family friend of Amberly’s and, having faced mental health challenges in her own family, holds our charity and cause close to her heart. To Nicole, Amby’s Army means “having the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of young people experiencing mental health challenges” by creating a platform where young people can easily access resources, feel supported, and know they are not alone. Nicole is reminded of Amberly in all the little things. She remembers her warmth, her talent for music and dancing, her baking skills, her creativity, but most of all her smile, “the kind that could light up a room and make everyone around her feel a little brighter”. Outside of Amby’s Army, Nicole loves theatre, film, and her monthly colouring-in club. She also enjoys music just as much as Amberly did. “I love going to live gigs and experiencing the energy and connection that music brings.”

Aidon Lynch (He/Him) - Social Media Coordinator & Youth Advocate
Introducing Aidon Lynch, our Social Media Coordinator, and one of our Youth Advocates.
Aidon is Amberly’s brother, meaning our charity and cause are very close to his heart. To Aidon, Amby’s Army is about raising awareness of, and providing easy access to, Australian youth mental health services. It’s also about “community, and belonging, through music”. Aidon is reminded of Amberly every day in everything he does, including on the road whenever he spots a pink car, an inside joke they shared. Outside of Amby’s Army, Aidon loves live music, karaoke with friends, a good film, games nights, and any opportunity to be creative.

Frances Mort (She/Her) - Secretary & Youth Advocate
Introducing Frances Mort, our Secretary and one of our Youth Advocates.
Frances was one of Amberly’s dearest friends, meaning our charity and cause are very close to her heart. To Frances, Amby’s Army is a reminder that you are not alone and highlights the importance of asking for help. “I never want someone to feel alone, or that taking their life is their only option.” Frances is reminded of Amberly in all their little inside jokes, including the actor, Robert Pattinson. She is also reminded of Amberly through feather boas, the song Lip Gloss by Lil Mama, and New Year's Eve, all signifiers of Amberly’s love for a good party. Outside of Amby’s Army, Frances is studying to be an adolescent psychologist. Frances is also a photographer, and she so beautifully captures all our Forever 18 Events.
