Joseph Howe joins American Bach’s 38th season opener, Italian Panache, from October 9 to 12!

Two spirited instrumental works by Domenico Scarlatti ignite the program, followed by Vivaldi’s blazing Concerto for Two Cellos, a tour de force performed by Joseph Howe and Gretchen Claassen.

Off-the-beaten-path discoveries are in store, too! Albinoni’s elegant Sinfonia and Caldara’s lilting Chaconne bring moments of serenity. The grandeur of Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in D Major completes the program, focusing on a quartet of soloists supported by the full ensemble.

Tonight, we’re taking you on a musical trip across Europe!

Program III, “Around the World in 80 Minutes,” journeys through the diverse flavors of the Baroque, from England to Germany, Poland, France, Italy, and Spain. The evening closes with Bach’s “Peasant Cantata,” a comic dialogue between a farmer and his wife poking fun at their new Chamberlain and the local tax collector. Bach himself called it a “Cantata Burlesque,” and it’s every bit as charming and entertaining as that sounds.

Tickets start at just $25. Seats are available for tonight at the link in bio🎻 by @americanbach
