insanely lucky i still get to do things like this with some of my oldest homies. all grown up hasn't played since 2017. i don't think this is the last time we get together, but this will be the last time we play at @mrbeerysbethpage which was a second home and safe haven to all of us. stoked to have @highschoolfootballheroes @peakcinemamusic and @stopthepressesmusic on the bill. /// take us back to 1996. i'm in 7th grade and i would spend my after-school hours at steve from peak cinema's house learning nirvana and offspring songs. marshall and fender combo amps. drums. a shitty PA from sam ash. drilling songs over and over again. big formative years learning how to play alongside others. hooked. see ya at beery's. /// i know this is the same night as the west end light parade. but this show starts well after the parade is over. and we'll be smuggling people up the loop parkway from long beach. get involved. #agunit #lawnguyland #tanhalen by @americanslobs

14 years ago today. hurricane sandy rocked us all. a few of us stubbornly decided to stay the night, thinking "irene wasn't that bad last year. we'll be fine." around 9:20pm, it was high tide, full moon, the storm surge was coming. once the power cut, all hell broke loose. all the residents on florida street kept their cool, but we were all nervous as hell. power line transformers started exploding, car alarms going off, you could hear the bottom floor windows shattering from surrounding houses. @chrisvarvaro and @bushhippie hit the streets the day after. insane. a light snowfall hit on halloween. kids were still out trick or treating amongst the trash, pulled carpet/sheetrock, and sewage. i flew out a day after that, sitting at JFK just dumbfounded. breezy point and the rockaways still smoking from the fires. this isn't a sad post, but just a reminder. mother nature rules all. and always wear a bathing suit. #hurricanesandy #lbny and the best, the @minnesotaslongbeach ladies night sign caught a sick wave and made it all the way to the front of @timrollins21 's house. #ladiesnight #getpitted by @americanslobs
