We are here to geek out about the games we are playing and loving ❤️❤️❤️
Sometimes we are a bit of a dumpster fire, but the trash talk between Josh and I will continue, minis will be painted, player 3 and the kiddos at school will always see games on the table.
A little of life will continue to be sprinkled in our story from powerlifting, to teacher stuff, to weeknight meals.

@gameheadgames This game is perfect. It's such a quick and fun filler. The art is to die for and the decision space is perfect.

I wanted to like this more. The ramp just wasn't there for me and the game was realllllyyyyy long and I felt it. I don't mind a long game, but I wanna look up and be like oh man it's been 3 Hours, not OMGGGG why has it been 3 hours.

Cute, cute, cute wouldn't say no to a game. But not a need to own a game for our personal collection

So fun, similar to code names but completely co-op

@nerdlab_games Mindbug is so freaking fun! This was our most played game of the convention. If you like the battle part of MTG this game distills that down so you can get the right to smackin' people around. So so good!!

Game: Shallow Sea by @badcometgames
This is a game about building out a coral reef. The solo is breezy, a score chase similar to the original. There is no automa to run, just a way to move your fish more efficiently, using the lion fish. The first two are free, but the rest will cost you two points sometimes it is worth it though. Lots of variable setups, and scenarios in the back for difficult challenges.

Book: The Future by Naomi Alderman I'm about 50% through, but this has been an interesting Science Fiction book about what might happen if billionaires had AI that could predict the end of the world.

Snack: Y'all that's a Martin's BBQ pecan pie slice with a Ollie Pop mini in Strawberry Vanilla cause it is fall and I love PIE!! Like a Beast Boy and Cyborg type of love of pie, and I'm sad for you if that is not a reference you get 😭

Tonight I played Orchard for @thesolitaryquest #solotober2026
I thought it would be another good one to also add to my it can be played in the bed series.
As a girl who is cramping, I didn't have the bandwidth for a huge set up at my game table. This little gem offers the best fast little score chase.

Machi Koro Life: Review
2-5 players: ages 10+: 45 minutes
Players collect hearts in this engine building dice rolling game. Grab cards to build your engine representing different aspects of life, jobs and hobbies. You will use those things to generate hearts to ultimately achieve your dreams.
Just like the original Machi Koro, you will buy cards that have numbers at the top in different colors. Some colors activate on your turn and others active on other players turns. Cards may activate when their number is rolled depending on the color of the card and who's turn it is.
This is a great part of the game because it means all the players have a vested interest in watching other players turns and engage in the game. I love the theme change, as the original was a city builder.
The theme change, however, brought in a change to what cards are available to add to your engine. In this game there is a line up, which makes sense thematically that all aspects of life aren't available when you want them to be. This change in my opinion created additional dead turns which could be a problem in the original game as well.
Sometimes you don't have enough hearts and no one is rolling the numbers you need. This can be frustrating if it is something you are not used to or don't like.
Final thought: This game will be donated to our local library. I think this is a perfect game for casual gaming families right after dinner on the weekend. It is light, engaging, and has low rules overhead. For us personally, it does not fit a need in our collection.
