I was honored with the distinction of Fellow of the American Society of Interior Designers on September 19, 2026, in Dallas, TX, at the ASID GATHER Catalyst Conference.

I am guided in my Faith and my career journey has been made all the better due to my family, close friends, colleagues, and clients. There is no way I am here accepting the honor of Fellow without your collective love and support. In that vein, I share this award with each of you.

I firmly believe that spaces have to positively transform the lives of people.

A duality - I can present all day long on topics I am researching and passionate about. Ask me to tell you about me, and I will shyly laugh, not know what to say, and likely make some awkward joke or deflect entirely. ☺️

So, staying true to myself, instead of reflecting on career accomplishments, I’d rather spend a moment thanking the people who’ve supported me on this path.

First and foremost, thank you to my son, Benjamin, and to my family. I love you. ❤️

Thank you to the ASID Council of Fellows. It is the honor of my career for this appointment and to join this extraordinary group of distinguished leaders. Thank you to the ASID National Board of Directors, Members and Staff and the ASID Foundation Trustee Board for supporting my appointment. Thank you to the Georgia and Ohio North ASID Chapters. In design, we constantly search for diverse voices, and for me, the people and perspectives across these Boards, both local and national, have made a lasting impact for the better.

Thank you, Janie Hirsh, FASID, for believing in me and serving as my Sponsor. You guided me throughout this process, and I could not be here without you.

Incredible time spent at the American Society of Interior Designers ASID GATHER Catalyst @asid_hq event this past week and weekend in Dallas!! ⭐️

What a joy to catch up with this incredible community of friends and colleagues, made even more sweet by bringing my son Benjamin along to experience all of it! 🥰

And there was a little announcement there as well. I am deeply honored and humbled that I was appointed ASID Fellow. One of the many reasons I enjoy being an ASID member is the incredible camaraderie. Volunteering with ASID has not only given me the opportunity to give back to our profession, but it has also introduced me to some truly wonderful friends and colleagues. It’s amazing how working together in service of our industry creates lasting relationships.

Whether we’re celebrating each other’s successes, including Carolyn Noble’s soon to be induction in the ASID College of Fellows - the society’s highest honor, or sharing ideas to help strengthen our businesses, it’s inspiring to be part of a community that genuinely supports one another.

Today, lunch with these four amazing friends was fantastic, and we all agreed it’s time to make these get-togethers happen more often! I also look forward to seeing everyone at our Georgia Chapter events and meetings.

If you’ve ever considered volunteering with ASID, I encourage you to get involved. You never know where it might lead—or the friendships you’ll build along the way.

At Ames Design, Alysha Marifiote @alyshamariemarifiote is the quiet force that keeps the engine running.
She oversees the operational backbone of Ames’ Continuing Education programming — coordinating presentations, managing accreditation reporting, communicating with reps, issuing certificates, and refining the systems that ensure nothing falls through the cracks. When something is unclear, delayed, fragmented, or messy, she sees it instantly and fixes it.
“That’s just how my brain works,” she says, smiling. “That’s my jam.”

But the clarity she brings to Ames today was earned — slowly, sometimes painfully — through a series of career pivots that taught her how to bet on herself and trust her instincts.
