Early April I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I’ve shared a lot of wins this year. What I haven’t shared is what was happening behind them. I’m sharing this now because I want to be honest. And if it helps one person book the appointment they’ve been putting off, then that matters to me.

For the last seven months, I’ve put on a brave face, I kept smiling in photos and saying I was fine.

But I was far from fine.

It’s been a journey and definitely not one that I planned for, and one I never saw coming. I have had two surgeries, treatment, medication, and months of my life that looked nothing like I have experienced before.

I felt lost, completely lost, and at times I still feel lost.

I have spent a lot of this year on a sofa, in hospitals, waiting rooms, and in treatment, quietly asking myself: who am I if I am not doing anything?

I still do not have the answer and I am still finding her.

What I do know is that this year showed me it is okay to stop. It is okay to be unwell. It is okay to say you are struggling even when everyone around you expects you to be strong, to be okay.

With all the wins and recognition this year, I have felt so disconnected. I don’t feel I’ve done anything to deserve recognition. Like I have nothing to show for this year. But really I have come through some of the hardest days and that’s not nothing. I suppose that really is everything.

Yesterday I finished my treatment, and I am cancer free.

I still can’t quite believe that this is part of my story. Some days I’m okay and on others I’m far from it. There are still appointments ahead, and I will continue taking medication. I feel overwhelmed and emotional, but also happy that I have reached this day.

I feel like everything has changed for me. I am still finding my way back, and I am ready to see who I become next.

This can happen to anyone. Please check yourselves and book the appointment you’ve been putting off. And be kind, because you never know what people are dealing with.

And if you are smiling in public while falling apart in private, believe me I am her. I don’t have all the answers, but I can listen and share what I’ve learned from my own experience. 🤍 by @amhackettceo

A Seat at the Table with @emmagrede last night ✨

Forty women. Two tables. Founders, entrepreneurs, CEOs and leaders, all with stories worth sharing.

Sharing a room with the likes of Karen Brady, Anne Boden, who founded Starling Bank, Rochelle Humes, Charlotte Tilbury and Melissaswardrobe. So many brilliant women around those tables. I was a sponge, soaking in every word.

I’m definitely not at the top of my game right now, and I’m finding that hard. But last night reminded me that it’s okay to stop and rest. It doesn’t mean the ambition stops with you.

I’m still thinking, still plotting, still planning. Still me.

And for a few hours last night, I felt some of the energy I’ve been missing come back.

Forbes Family Group has always been about more than a name.

Hearing @amhackettceo speak so openly about what being part of FFG means to her was a special moment. She brings so much to the family, and seeing her grow in confidence, embrace who she is and realise just how much she’s capable of means a lot to all of us.

She started off as chief of staff in FFG to now being CEO and has had such an incredible journey along the way. To know that FFG has given her a space where she feels appreciated, supported and able to be completely herself is something we’re incredibly proud of.

WOW - So today I am honoured to be been named on Involve x YouTube Top 100 Empower Executive Role Model global list for 2026, as Co CEO of @forbesfamilygroup

The list celebrates business leaders driving change in the workplace and opening the door for the next generation of diverse talent. Who would have thought over 25 years ago when I was starting out I would end up with my name in lists!

I’m actually so proud of myself, but supporting others and impacting the little changes I can makes me even prouder.

There are weeks that are all doing, and then there are weeks that are all people and my favourite kind of people at that. Last week was the second kind.

I sat with my team, and I sat with the people who fill my cup and leave me lighter than they found me. I had lunch with @emmagrede we laughed and chatted as always, spent the day with @iam_charlene_richards she is full of ideas and excitement, I saw @its_dbrown with @mrs_danielleforbes we always have the most fun, and finally got proper time with my GOAT @ysc__ali, over @yoursocialcurrency. I also spent time with @carolinesmx but we didn’t get a picture. I love to talk. I love to share. I always come away from a good conversation with more than I brought to it and such joy.

It is easy to treat these moments as the thing you do around the work. I have come to believe they are the work. The ideas, the honesty, the laughing.

Thank you to all of you who gave me your time and your thoughts last week. You fill my cup, and I do not take it for granted.

I’m not gonna to pretend I’ve cracked this posting thing, I really haven’t. But I’m getting there. I’m always too busy in the work, but that’s the bit I love anyway.

And it’s never the glamorous part. It’s the structure, the partnerships, the governance. The stuff nobody claps for, the quiet work that takes a good idea and slowly turns it into something that can hold its own weight.

It’s not loud and it’s not quick. But it’s the difference between something that performs and something that lasts.

@neverfullydressed had us in for their gifting suite this week and honestly we had the best time. They wanted to connect with the @ffgconnect community and we spent the afternoon meeting the amazing team, seeing the collection, and I wanted it all. Every single piece.

I believe the best partnerships tend to start exactly like this, in person, with real warmth long before anything is signed.

We move so fast we forget to mark the moment.

I’ve had some great wins lately and I move on to the next thing so fast I never take them in. I see the messages, I say thanks, and I’m on to what needs doing next.

But no win is too small to say out loud. Sometimes we all need to take a moment and celebrate those wins, those moments.

So this week I am counting my blessings. Being mum to a young man who won the league title this year with his football team. Having my youngest confident enough to decide he is going to stay on the other side of the world to his family. A job I truly love and a family I cherish. Being able to live every day and make new memories. The list is endless.

And I’ll definitely be celebrating with Severan, considering I’m now a co-owner. What a win that is.

Beyond grateful for all the support given to me.
