And this weekend reminded me just how true that is.

A huge thank you to @raphaelsofoluke for inviting us to showcase our beautiful @ffgconnect network at the @ukbbshow , as it celebrates a decade of championing Black excellence.

What a week! Our Founder Dean Forbes, CEO @amhackettceo , Head of Entrepreneurship @mrdwainreid, and our brilliant member and Ambassador @iciethehost all took to the stage as guest speakers.

On Saturday, we had our full team in action, including our incredible CEO @shiftlifewithdavina and chairwoman @mrs_danielleforbes, joined by members @mrsfatimafares, @dhilonsolanki, @mekzy_, @brighterfuturemediation, @sandrafearon and Marcie, who generously gave their time to share their experiences.

Watching them champion the network, celebrate their own journeys and speak so passionately about what they’ve accomplished as part of Connect made me incredibly proud of the family we’ve built. 🥹

But what I wasn’t quite prepared for were the conversations with people outside our network.

People who shared how our work, our words, our individual personalities and the spaces we create have inspired, motivated or impacted them in ways we hadn’t even realised.

It was genuinely humbling, and if I’m being transparent, a little disarming.

I’m so accustomed to being behind the scenes, creating rooms that bring people together, inspire conversations and open doors, that I sometimes forget I’m in those rooms too. And that my contribution can have an impact beyond the people I see every day.

To everyone who stopped to share a kind word, a personal story or simply tell us what Connect has meant to them, thank you. You may not realise it, but you gave me something equally valuable in return: the motivation to keep going.

Sometimes, when you’re so focused on creating impact, you need someone to remind you that you’re making one.

And that’s the beautiful thing about connection. You never quite know who’s changing whose life. ❤️

This year’s Black Women in Business Talks felt like a GRADUATION…

The shift in the room was clear.

Women rooted in EXACTLY who they are. Unapologetically demanding excellence of themselves and their teams.

Beyond the stages, awards and accolades, these women cared deeply about their work, who they serve, but ALSO about themselves.

In a world where self-sacrifice is hailed as the ultimate trophy, the conversations were refreshingly honest, vulnerable and ENTERTAINING!

The panellists beautifully chaired by @hannah_awonuga and @cdboateng spoke about the personal cost of building something meaningful. Not just financially, but what it asks of you as a WOMAN. And at what point does that price become too high?

Closed with a very candid fireside with @opeyemi.sofoluke and @olamideaolowe the message was clear. Impact over optics and TRUST over everything.

It truly felt like we’ve moved beyond proving we belong in these rooms to being intentional about WHAT we build, HOW we build it and who we become along the way.

Always an honour to deliver the opening and closing remarks at the Black Women in Business Talks. And one thing about me? I’m gonna take and share my NOTES!!! 😂

Aww I had the BEST TIME talking at @ukbbweek on one of the Black Women and Buisness talks 🤩 with the incredible @amarie_hackett 😍 and @jordanjcmitchell 😍 led beautifully my girlie @cdboateng 😍

My biggest reminder of the evening- IMPACT over OPTICS 📈25 years in this social entrepreneurship journey and im still learning and enjoying it too ❤️

There was even a moment on stage where we all admitted that spreadsheets and finances aren’t necessarily our strengths 😅 and that’s why bringing the right people into your team is so important! 🙏🏾

These are the honest conversations we need more of. So much learning, sharing and connecting, and it was lovely speaking to so many people who resonated with the talks afterwards 🤩

What an incredible evening, invited to A Seat at the Table by the wonderful @emmagrede

It was such an honour and privilege to share the room with Emma herself, alongside Charlotte Tilbury, Rochelle Humes, Molly-Mae, Melissa’s Wardrobe, Karen Brady, Ann Marie Hackett and so many other inspiring women.

A room filled with incredible talent, ambition, creativity and, most importantly, great conversations and connections.

I’m always grateful for the opportunities to sit at tables where ideas are shared, doors are opened and women continue to inspire and empower one another.

A truly wonderful night, thank you @emmagrede for creating such a special space ❤️

Forbes Family Group has always been about more than a name.

Hearing @amhackettceo speak so openly about what being part of FFG means to her was a special moment. She brings so much to the family, and seeing her grow in confidence, embrace who she is and realise just how much she’s capable of means a lot to all of us.

She started off as chief of staff in FFG to now being CEO and has had such an incredible journey along the way. To know that FFG has given her a space where she feels appreciated, supported and able to be completely herself is something we’re incredibly proud of.

We’re very lucky to have her, and even more excited for everything that’s still ahead. ❤️

Did someone say Soiree? It was far more than a party it was a communion - a coming together and true celebration of what we’ve been building since we started this journey.

Being part of the leadership at @forbesfamilygroup for the past 6 years has been a huge journey of connection, purpose, passion and growth.

Watching @ffgconnect - under my absolute pardie @amhackettceo - develop as its own entity from that work and effort is truly incredible.

Seeing so many people who have benefited from the countless conversations, contributions, meetings and discussions we have. Having so many of the guests and members personally greet and thank and compliment me on both my personal contributions to their journeys as well as FFG as a whole. Knowing the value of what we do and what it means, makes it all worth it. Despite the juggle of it all!

Nights like the Soiree are just a greater gathering of what we do every month. Listening, advising, referring, supporting and celebrating our members - creating opportunities and driving change. We’re not just a home of ambition, we are the family in that home that makes your ambitions and dreams bigger and better! Who help you to become not just your best, but your most authentic and favourite version of yourself!

So proud of what we’re all building together and joyful to share with so many I consider FFG family along the way 🩵
