Exploring Istanbul for a week 🇹🇷

A weekend in Northern Albania 🇦🇱

I hadn’t heard of the Albanian Alps until a few weeks ago! But now I’m recommending everyone visits 🤍

Some things you need to know when planning your Theth itinerary:

🏡 Where to stay: Theth is mostly small, family-run guesthouses rather than hotels. We stayed in a remote lodge with dinner included and honestly, I’d do it this way again. The food, mountain views and sitting outside watching the sunset were such a big part of the experience.

🥾 What to do: Grunas Waterfall, the Blue Eye of Theth, Theth Church and the surrounding trails. There’s also the famous Theth to Valbona hike, but just know this is a proper full-day hike of around 15–17km, taking roughly 6–8 hours. We didn’t do it this time as we were only there for a weekend, but it’s definitely on the list for next time!

🚗 Getting there: If you’re flying in, Tirana is the closest major airport. From Tirana, it’s roughly 4–5 hours by car to Theth, so I’d allow most of a day for the journey. The final part is a winding mountain road, so it takes longer than you might expect!

💶 Money + maps: Take cash with you and download your maps before you go. I love AllTrails personally! 🗺️ Theth is remote and phone signal can be patchy, so I wouldn’t rely on having everything work once you’re up in the mountains.

I’d recommend at least 2–3 nights if you can. We packed a lot into our weekend but I think it’s enough time since it’s quite a small area 🏔️

A little week of island life in Mauritius 🇲🇺🌴

I stayed in Grand Baie, rented a car and spent the week driving around this ridiculously pretty little island.

Think turquoise water, palm trees, tiny beaches, lush green mountains and the kind of views that make you stop the car every five minutes 🐚☀️

We ticked off all the classics too, from the Seven Coloured Earth and Chamarel Waterfall to Black River Gorges, the waterfalls and Le Morne.

Mauritius, you were a dream 🌺

HOW TO SPEND 1.5 DAYS IN DURMITOR NATIONAL PARK 🇲🇪⛰️

One of my favourite places I’ve visited in Montenegro so far! and you can see a LOT in just 1.5 days 👇🏻

🥾 BOBOTOV KUK
Hike to Bobotov Kuk at 2,523m, the highest mountain entirely within Montenegro. It’s a challenging hike, so come prepared with proper hiking shoes, plenty of water and check the weather before setting off.

🛖 STAY IN ŽABLJAK
Base yourself in Žabljak, the mountain town in the heart of Durmitor. I stayed in a cute log cabin and loved waking up surrounded by mountains.

🏔️ SEDLO PASS
Drive the spectacular Durmitor Ring and stop at Sedlo Pass for some of the best views in the park.

🌲 BLACK LAKE
Spend your second morning at Crno Jezero. Walk the 3.5km loop around the lake and bring your swimwear because you can swim here! Entry is €5 per person. (Žabljak Travel)

🏊🏻‍♀️ EXPLORE ŽABLJAK
Take some time to explore the town itself, then cool off with a swim in one of the local rivers.

🌊 TARA CANYON
If you have more time, add Tara Canyon for ziplining across the canyon or white-water rafting. When I visited, these activities were closed until the end of October, so check availability before making the trip.

💰 GOOD TO KNOW
• Black Lake:€5 plus parking
• Žabljak is the best base for exploring Durmitor
• The park has 18 glacial lakes, so there’s plenty more to explore if you have longer!
