Happiness was always about me 🌱 by @amirathao

As a young woman, I’ve always aspired to live out my life to the fullest. I’ve moved to a new state for my career, started a home bakery, and now have my dog. I never wanted to look back and regret missing out on an opportunity. And as I’ve been busy trying to live my life to its fullest potential, Jonathan has been right beside me.

A part of who I am today is thanks to him. He is someone who doesn’t hold me back from experiencing life, but instead chooses to experience it with me. It’s always been, “Do it, and I’ll be right there with you.”

I’m so grateful to have you and Fi on my team. I love traveling with just the three of us. I love cooking our favorite meals together.

Like one of our favorite songs, I love to “make time just to waste time with you.”

Chose a 14 hr road trip instead because I thought Fi deserved to see the mountains too 🤍 by @amirathao

For most of my life, September has always been my favorite month of the year: Fall and my birthday.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve also lost my first puppy and my grandma, both during this month. So it’s been a roller coaster of emotions as I mourn my loved ones while also celebrating myself.

I’ve decided that no matter what emotion I’m feeling this month, it’s an honor to have loved others so deeply, while also feeling so loved in return.

I wanted to make this status long and sentimental, including all of my achievements, trips, and everything this year has brought me… but I’ll just leave it here.

Life has been so so amazing and I’ll keep making this the best one yet ♥️

Celebrated the end of August with so much love 🤍 by @amirathao

Before leaving for Japan, I read a book called Ikigai. It’s a Japanese concept that is often translated as “a reason to get up in the morning.”

One thing that stood out to me during this trip was that although many stores didn’t open until 10 a.m., the locals were already out and about, starting their day. We found ourselves doing the same. While wandering through the city and trying to find our train station, we enjoyed people-watching the most.

It made me realize that it’s not always the plans you’ve made months in advance that get you out of bed. Sometimes, it’s simply knowing that you have the privilege of waking up to a day with nothing planned at all.

For that brief moment, your mind is quiet, and you’re just present.

Maybe that’s what ikigai is all about. by @amirathao
