I'm incredibly proud to finally release my Shibari Practice Kits into the world 🌍 Pre-orders open now!

It's been a labour of love putting this together with my friend @raine_is_a_wip ❣️ We went over the tiniest micro details to give you an elevated tying experience. So worth it. Major upgrade from the cotton ropes. And this is just the beginning.

Each kit comes with:
- 2x 8M Jute Ropes (treated by hand with a balm made from organic bees wax & cold pressed jojoba oil, finished off with camille oil)
- 1 Safety shears
- 1 Tenugui which is a traditional Japanese multi-purpose cloth (you can use it as a blindfold, a mask or to carry your ropes in)
- Care card

I hand tie each package as seen in the photo so I'm basically saying a little manifestation for sweet connections to come your way. I hope you care for them & the people you tie with as much love as I've poured into this 🥹

They're absolutely perfect foundational ropes for you to start your shibari practice if you haven't already.

If you asked me "why shibari?" I wouldn't be able to tell you if it was the act of tying or co-creating trust and connection that challenges traditional norms of consent in intimate relationships.

I care deeply about interpersonal dynamics and the power of desire and I've been able to translate this thinking into teaching through my work overtime.

If you've ever attended my workshops or rope jams, you'd know that I have a few central beliefs to my teaching: 1) I trust you to discern what feels good for you & your experience 2) I find it deeply respectful to not spoonfeed people the "correct" way to teach about connection. Instead, I offer you a sense of autonomy to learn from each other. 3) Your desire is central to the process of exploration & imagination.

After a long time, I am craving to apply these principles to my own creative practice to grow, to change and to follow my own path of desire. Truthfully, it's quite nerve whacking and at the same time, I'm ridden the excitement. Im rooting so hard for (me &) whatever that's to come out of this process.

I am grateful for your trust in @sillyhands.shibari and hence, Im leaving you with something that's also a way for me to honour this labour of love — more on this in July. 💌

Thank you @bijoyyyy for being so in-sync with my creative ideas and capturing the essence of the art with so much softness 🤎 @imp__._ for bringing your tender energy and natural grace into this shoot. I remember feeling full of gratitude and hope on this day.

that's a good question by @amiyabhanushali

i like lifting and getting stronger as a reminder that i can feel pain and it burns but its also good for me and go through a entire cycle to find myself at the end where i can recognise the difference between healing and not healing is the same as living and surviving.

to desire a life that is fulfilling and honest is a direct consequence for collapse of the patriarchy. how dare we desire to walk the roads at night and not be scared to die? mustn't perform the act of having autonomy in a state that has machinery deployed to curb single most (and perhaps possibly the only) important tool we have that scares the said puppeteers to its bones : our voice.... or else? by @amiyabhanushali
