Meet Hal Rodriguez and Sahrye Cohen, the amazing duo behind @amped_atelier, a tech-couture studio blending fashion and technology.

In celebration of Filipino American History Month, they will join other Bay Area upcyclers to reimagine garments donated by Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas.

Watch their creative process throughout the day! The finished pieces will be sold on Upcyclers.com, with proceeds benefiting the Apl.de.Ap Foundation.

I was so honored to walk for Upcyclers - not just a show but a movement. Upcycled clothing transforms discarded or unused garments into new, stylish pieces, giving fashion a second life, a wearable art like this gorgeous piece from @amped_atelier ♻️

✨ A study in softness.

Pastel hues melting into delicate fabric.
Movement so light it feels almost whispered.
Makeup kept gentle. Hair flowing effortlessly.

This look felt like an ode to womanhood graceful, tender, and quietly powerful.
There was no need to demand attention.
The elegance spoke for itself.

Every detail was intentional:
the way the fabric draped,
the calmness in the colors,
the softness that allowed femininity to simply exist.

In a world that often requires women to be louder, stronger, tougher, this moment reminded me that there is strength in grace as well
That softness is not weakness.
That femininity, when honored, becomes its own kind of power.

Wrapped in lightness.
Rooted in elegance.
A gentle reminder that being delicate can still be deeply impactful ✨

✨ Turning waste into wonder.

I was deeply honored to open the show wearing a piece by @amped_atelier, as part of the powerful runway experience produced with Upcyclers.

This look carried intention.
Fishnet detailing in the back.
Floral elements crafted from recycled plastic — materials that could’ve stayed discarded, but instead were transformed into art.

Every outfit on this runway was upcycled.
Every creative brought purpose.
Every design proved that beauty doesn’t have to come at the planet’s expense.

In a world where it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by everything going wrong, moments like this remind me that there are also people quietly doing the work — choosing creativity, choosing sustainability, choosing impact.

To me, this is what true creativity looks like:
taking everyday materials and giving them new life.

No effort is too small. You do your part. Someone else does theirs. And slowly — the world follows 🌍✨

Grateful to open this show in such a meaningful piece, surrounded by creatives who believe fashion can be a force for good.
