POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I was stunned and delighted to find out that this painting of mine has been selected as a finalist in the @rawartprize Ravenswood Art Prize for Women.

What a thrill to be among such fine company. As an artist you wade through a lot of rejections. I heard a podcast the other year by an artist and ex-basketballer who said the only way to sustain life as an artist was to have a "team mentality". When you see a peer receive something, you cheer because ultimately you are all on the same team. I love that thinking.

Nonetheless it's a thrill to get put in the starting line up!

Perfume//

One of the larger works in my show and I hoped to make it feel light and fleeting.

I will be at the gallery tomorrow morning in Inverell @akbellingergallery if anyone is local we would love to say hi 👋🏼

Link to catalogue in the bio for the rest of y'all.

Touch Talk//

This is another favourite from my current show Moth(er) @akbellingergallery

I've been considering the different ways we communicate without words. We use a lot of sign language at home with my son. Raising someone who thinks/functions differently expands the ways you see and feel the world. The way things feel, like the dust of a wing is fascinating to convey.

A poem for today. I have been drawing and writing a lot in my car this year as parenting ramps up to an all new high. It's been a kind of gift though. Little scraps of paper and thoughts and images strewn throughout time and place. A studio on wheels really.

I wrote this little poem on a scrap of something in an in-between moment. by @amycuneoist

Casserole, Cornflowers and Child's Play//

20 x 20 uniquely framed in a beautiful piece of silky oak by @sepal_frame

We had a huge silky oak in our backyard as kids that housed a swing and a basketball hoop and could be attributed to producing the amazing athletes we are today. by @amycuneoist
