Just a girl and her Bible from the late 1980’s.

I’m in my set apart era…
It’s Seminary Season and I’m realizing I can’t do it all.

Dreams require sacrifice.

Sometimes, we must set aside the lesser things in our quest for the better thing we’ve been searching for all along.

After gearing up to be fearless in February, I’m ready to take a big leap of faith and believe y’all will be here when I get back…
maybe not all of you, but I’m okay with that…because I believe in what God’s doing in my heart and mind in preparation for what’s to come.

I have a lot to say,
but for now,
I’m going to keep my head down and stay quiet while entrusting my efforts to the Lord, hushing up the world’s cry to hustle and hurry things and instead let the refining 🔥 process take hold of my heart in hopes of bringing you something better and bolder than I have to offer now.

I wrote this in my journal recently, “Girl, the step-back sets you up for a stronger comeback!” It’s what I’ve been saying to myself as I’m declaring and believing this to be true for me right now.

So, if being in Seminary Season means you’ll benefit more in my Comeback Season, I’m all in! 🙋‍♀️

In a day when we’re constantly being told to hustle, God says, “Be still.”

He beckons us to come away with Him to the quiet place, the sacred space of STILL.

Still here.
Still love you.
Still working.
Still interceding.
Still in control.
Still coming back one day.
I’m still God.

🧶Being still is the place where God whispers the hidden things into the deepest crevices of our hearts.
🧶Being still is the way Holy Spirit expands our capacity for the more God has for us in the here and now.
🧶Being still is how Jesus weaves His holiness into the fibers of our whole heart to purify us to be His bride.

It’s here in the stillness where we learn just how deep, how high, how long and how wide the love of God truly is for us.

In our stillness, the Enemy trembles, terrified we’ll begin to take God at His word, believing all that He says about us. And then after we’ve learned to linger a little longer every day, God says:

“…Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me! I have come as you have asked to draw you to my heart and lead you out. For now is the time, my beautiful one. The season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter has ended, and the season of hiding is over and gone. The rains have soaked the earth and left it bright with blossoming flowers. The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived. I hear the cooing of doves in our land, filling the air with songs to awaken you and guide you forth. Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. Just a little reminder of who you are in Christ. Don’t forget you’re a Daughter of the King. 👑 I don’t know what your earthy father was/is like, but there’s no fear when you go before The King. He is the Approachable Father who invites us to come boldly before His throne of mercy and grace. For some of us this is a hard concept; we’ve been scared off, unwelcome, or mistreated when we’ve come asking for what we need. But that’s not how it is with God. Is He holy, perfect, and righteous? Yes. But He is also approachable, full of grace and mercy, kindhearted, and has made a way for us to be in relationship with Him as heirs—sons and daughters of the King through Jesus. When we understand how God sees us through Jesus when we’ve become born again, fear is banished. Love continually covers…as the blood covered our sin. We now have access—full access to come boldly as beloved daughters. Ireland 🇮🇪 you stole a piece of my heart 💚
@lifeonpilgrimage thank you for the most beautiful trip filled with everything my heart needed to refresh, renew, and rethink the way I see all.the.things. Great food, new friends, deeper meaning for what’s truly important. My prayer for you tonight or tag a friend & pray this with me:

PRAYER for a FRIEND
“No matter how disappointed my sweet friend is or how distant You feel to her right now, I pray, God, she would run toward You. In the unknown and the unpredictable may she know that You are for her not against her. I pray her heart would soften towards You and be strengthened by You as never before. May she lay every hurt and every obstacle at Your feet knowing in exchange she will receive the peace that passes all understanding. I pray she feels Your tangible presence as she rests her pretty little head on her pillow. May she have the best night’s sleep and wake up refreshed and filed with joy. God, You are good. May we both see Your goodness in the land of the living in the days ahead. I ask these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen. 🙏💛

When unmerited fear causes everything inside you to say, “Run, run away!” You a bet there’s more going on in the depths of your soul.

I’m not talking about our flight or fight responses that God placed inside us for protection—I’m talking the senseless, worrisome, nagging kind of fear that threatens to steal, kill, and destroy the destiny God has planned for us.

I’m talking the false fears the enemy hurls at us in a feeble attempt to distract us or derail us…or maybe just discourage us enough to fall face first into a pit of despair and disbelief…where doubt drags us under and we forget the goodness of God.

That kind of fear should make us strap on our fighting boots 🥾 and run straight onto the battlefield, knowing Jesus is already there fighting for us.

How dare the enemy try to get in our way or take us out! Darling, run to God.

Fear Less

Being fearless in the face of our enemy makes him back off and in the end, he’s the one running away, already defeated—knowing he’s fighting a battle he will never win. As we close out this month and our Fearless February Challenge…
Sweet friend,
I want to encourage you to be fearless, free, and to fly. And, if you’re not quite ready for takeoff, you’re welcome to float awhile. God’s not in a hurry when it comes to your heart. Take your time, girl. 💖AEM

BTW, I’m thinking about popping in here to share some Defining Moments from time to time. These defining moments began on the podcast and later in my quiet time with God with definitions I’ve complied and written to encourage my heart (and hopefully yours too).
Let’s start with this one…

Fly: unhindered | weightless | free to take off into unknown territory to see from a new perspective | no longer stuck in a place of fear or doubt or grief | able to move on from one place to another | use your wings to move through the atmosphere that once held you down but has now released you to new adventures | a faith journey | free to dream again | to be successful | go or move quickly | to make waves or cause flutters | to be circulated among people quickly | to travel lightly | clever | flip | brandish a sword ⚔️ | cause to blossom 🌸 | soar 🦋 | float

Last year my word of the year was FLY and God is still speaking volumes to my spirit with these three little letters.

Hope is the gateway out of our heartbreak.
This is a lesson learned by walking through the wilderness with the One we learn to call Friend.
If there’s one thing I want you to walk away with this month,
it’s HOPE.

Honestly, the way out of paralyzing fear is hoping in Jesus.

Even when we can’t see His hand, we can trust His character and His heart for us.
He understands the hurt.
He hears the quiet prayers of desperation.
He knows the sting of rejection and the pain of giving up everything for the cause of the Kingdom.

Please know that you are deeply loved & kept by God. He will not forsake you nor abandon you.

Hope truly is the gateway out of our greatest fears and deepest disappointments—
He will heal the heartache that’s holding you back from moving forward.

I’m right there with you! The wilderness is full of both scary scorpions 🦂 and the most beautiful blossoms 🌸🌸🌸 growing in the most unlikely places. That’s how it is in this world too…

The unknown can be a scary place, yet when we enter uncharted territory knowing God’s holding our hand, everything changes. We can find our courage in Christ to be fearless!

Though I am fierce,
some days, I am still filled with fear.

When our sin looks impassable, like a mountain looming before us…God makes a way. Confession is the pathway to intimacy with God. Not only does it assist in purifying our hearts before Him, it has the power to embolden us as we profess/confess our faith in the One who fights our battles and makes us brave.
