It was exciting to see the Big Boy roll through PA today ! As a WWII geek history buff - I think it’s fascinating to understand WHY these giant workhorses came to be :

The Union Pacific Big Boys were vital to the U.S. World War II effort, hauling massive volumes of military equipment, weapons, and raw materials across the West to Pacific ports.
Much of this freight originated in factories east of the Rockies and had to cross the Wasatch Range before reaching California ports for shipment overseas.

Before the Big Boys were manufactured , hauling a heavy wartime freight train over the mountains required splitting the train into smaller sections or using up to three helper engines coupled together to push and pull the cargo. By swapping in a single Big Boy, Union Pacific eliminated these slow, logistically complex helper operations. A single crew could now move a massive, unified line of military freight over the summit at a sustained speed of 40 mph.

By removing this major transportation bottleneck, the Big Boys significantly increased the volume and speed of wartime freight movement.

They proved to be heroes in the ultimate success in ending WWII. by @amyhallock1

Thst crazy spaceship cloud !
A quick little warm break in Florida after 10 months - has actually been pretty darn chilly - with temps in the 20’s and 30’s at night - lots of gusty , relentless wind - and 50’s during the day. I’m not complaining!

It shows perspective is everything -
The locals down here are delighted to get out their Uggs , sweaters and knit hats! 😂 I participated in also being sensibly dressed - and still chased the chilly sunsets. 🌅 by @amyhallock1

Possibly my favorite art work of all time. We’ve had many breeds , sizes , ages, stages and personalities of pups in our family. But these two have been through the most seasons of the ebb and flow of our lives ~ and they’ve always given more love and attention, entertainment and companionship than I really ever thought was possible . So what more fitting thank you than to be immortalized in a bathroom doing ridiculous things?💕🐶💙🐶😂 by @amyhallock1

This is not a political issue … this is a Crime .

If you have a daughter , granddaughter ,a sister, a niece …or a son , grandson , brother or nephew ( rape isn’t a gender discriminating crime ) - or a friend of either gender ~ You should be outraged.

As a mental health professional - I know personally and statistically that anyone reading this knows a victim of sexual assault . The odds are that they’ve been too ashamed or afraid to bring charges … or to share the lasting damage they live with .

We all know that these files will contain names from BOTH sides of the aisle. To suggest this is a partisan issue is absurd.

We can all help to bring justice to these victims … and also set into motion laws that will protect everyone in the future .

There is the 1st of 3 votes in Washington tomorrow. The House will probably vote to release the files .

The Senate will vote in the next 2 weeks - no date has been set

Then President Trump will have the option of Vetoing …

I know it takes effort to research Who and Where to Effectively Call, send Letters , and emails. And that Writing a letter or making a Call is another To Do on a long list .

I’ve compiled all of the contact information that you need for State / and US officials - along with an email, call script, and social media text with Hashtags #….that you can customize to your needs
DM - or Text me if this is important to you and I’ll send you the PdF or Word documents that you can fill in and cut and paste to let your voice be heard.

I appreciate everyone who has compassionately discussed the heartbreaking tragedy of abuse in person and in Social media. by @amyhallock1
