MEET YOUR VAMP. Amy has collected obituaries of common folk since before newspapers became extinct. Her faves include obits for the ceramicist for the stars, the inventor of the poodle skirt, and the leader of the mariachi band who played at JFK’s funeral. She hopes to one day accomplish something extraordinary that will go in her obit.

Join us Thursday, 10/15 at Kensington Club for a spooky night of true stories! Tickets available at the LINK IN BIO. (Don’t worry, you can still get ‘em at the door.) by @amylizwrites

It’s gonna be hot this weekend Beautiful People. 🥵I keep this toner in my fridge and spray a little on my face, neck, décolletage, inner elbows, wherever throughout the day. I have AC and it still feels refreshing. I’m not known for any beautification techniques, but this is a secret that needs to be shared. How do you keep your cool?💜🩷💕 by @amylizwrites

On a hot September day when I can find the energy to read a book, there is still lust in the garden of our construction site. I’ll take it as a good sign that there’s something pleasant to come from the dusty discombobulation. (Don’t judge me on my videography.) by @amylizwrites

Every time I see a flag at half mast now, I think, “could it be?! Oh please let it be.” I’m a hopeful soul. But alas this one was for a good soul. RIP Dolly. 💜🎶 by @amylizwrites

One way to completely distract yourself from the outside world is to tear apart your inside world. Goodbye blue bathroom that looked like the bottom of a swimming pool and back bedroom that stayed 450 degrees. Our house is 96 years old and it’s getting a hip replacement because it wants to live to be 196. Thank you, termites, for the lacy design in the framing. I put my finger through the wood and it turned to powder. The termites have chewed their last morsel. So many stories in this house. A man visiting from NYC showed up as we demo’d the back room. He had rented the back room in the 90s. I’ve had so many folks show up over the years and tell me about their time living in this house. It’s filled with happy memories. Thanksgivings, Christmas, romantic break-ups, staircases that moved, walls rearranged. It’s a happy place that believes in change and life filled with friends and gatherings. We will survive this remodel and maybe you’ll come visit! 🔨🛠️💜💃🏻. by @amylizwrites

Everyone! Just finished this book late last night. Kept me up for three (3!) nights. It’s so creepy good with werewolves of London, Jack the Ripper, dark alleys, mansions, creaky floors, purple poison, and dreams! Dreams! I had chilling-to-the-bone, stay-with-you-all-day dreams of my own night before last. If you love a little terror that makes your heart beat faster, your ears stay perked, and your fingers turn the pages faster than you can read, then you must have this book in your hands immediately! Plus, it has a love and appreciation for women that will make you swoon. @elizabethdelozierwrites is so brilliant. I’m so glad she’s in this world. taken in South Park, San Diego by @amylizwrites

Yep, a winner of a day at the KPBS Book Festival. Beat the heat with the literary fiction panel I moderated with @rasheed.newson.author @daniel_m_lavery @mononoke97, caught a glimpse of my pal and deliriously good author @elizabethdelozierwrites. Not in the photos, but started my day with horror with @s_faxon_author @thenewdumas and @denniskcrosby. Stopped in to see @amadhara moderate a cool group of movie folk. In the green room ran into @huda.almarashi. My day is complete. Carry on. by @amylizwrites
