💍 Bookish Wedding Details - Part 2 💍

Last wedding related book post I swear (at least I’ll try not to post too much more about it from now onwards 🤣🍋)

Aside from the blind date with a book favours, I managed to squeeze in a few extra lil bookish references into the wedding via my speech - Brad was thrilled (lol) with my numerous ACOTAR references which included a Court of Brad and Amy folder (thanks to my fellow ACO-cult girlies in the audience for hyping up the reference ♥️😘)

But now thanks to our minimoon Brad has read ACOTAR and is halfway through ACOMAF, so at least gets it when I mention Feyre or Rhysand or the bat boys. So here’s to being an unashamed book nerd at all times #NOREGRETS

💍🍋 Wedding Library - Blind Date With a Book Favours 🍋 💍

Happy weekend! How are you all?!

Despite thinking I’d be back to normal post-wedding, we’re still in our wedding bubble and not yet back to bookstagram properly yet (but nearly there!!)

So thought I’d just post a few pics from our blind date with a book library we had for the wedding, since a few people had asked about it 🤍 I knew from the beginning of wedding planning I couldn’t steam roller the wedding theme with books (even if I really wanted to), but I still wanted to get a lil something bookish in the day. So began the wedding library project.

We started collecting books about a year and a half ago, with the aim to have about 100 books for people to pick up as wedding favours if they fancied it. I wanted the books to be ones I’d read and would recommend, or books I’ve always wanted to read. Luckily we were able to get a big collection going, my mum wrapped them ALL (absolute legend), I wrote out the cards, designed some bookmarks and then we put them all together the week before.

They seemed to go down well and all were gone by the end of the day - it brought me so much joy seeing everyone picking them out so thank you to all my beaut guests for getting proper stuck in 🤍🤍🤍 It was a bit of effort but would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Thank you again to my mum, my sister, my auntie, my cousin and BFF for helping put them all together the week before - couldn’t have done it without you guys Now I just need to put all that effort back into the Booksta game 😂🤍

P.s the day flew by so never actually got a photo with my wedding library, so here’s a few with the books in the background 🤣

✨ Sunday TBR Pile of Shame ✨

How big is your physical / Kindle / Audiobook TBR?

Alongside my ‘stack of books to review’ pile of shame, there is an even more significant pile of shame - my physical TBR stack. I’d like to say this is it but there are probably at least another hundred books waiting in the wings… These are just a selection of the unread books I’ve acquired so far in 2026. Oh dear.

The joy of picking out new books somehow cancels out that voice in the back of my head that says READ THE DAMN ONES YOU HAVE AT HOME. Every. Single. Time.

It also doesn’t help that the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks (and my ACOTAR reread) have taken over my life for the past two months and I haven’t read a new physical book in weeks 🫠.

However I am going to make a concerted effort to read as many of these before the end of 2026, where I’ll inevitably buy 10-20 books in the Boxing Day Waterstones sale that I won’t read until 2035. It’s a problem.

If there are bag of these you think I should prioritise please do suggest which I should start on next!!!

✨ Impulsive Book Buys ✨

What do you do when you find out there is a Daunt Books within walking distance of your London office?

Smart answer is plot a different route for your lunch, your TBR is already too long.

Correct answer is you head straight to Daunt Books and buy at least two books even though you have 100+ unread books to get through.

That’s the story of me and Daunt this afternoon - I’m now coming home with two beautiful new books. Slanting Towards the Sea by Lisina Hilje is a book rec from my sister (who has 99% impeccable taste) so that has been on my TBR for a while. But Tangerinn was a complete impulse buy, motivated by the beautiful cover but sold to me thanks to some rave Goodreads review.

BRB just off to abandon my current TBR order and start one of these instead 😘

✨ Playing Bookstagram Catch Up ✨

So you ever feel caught up with posting and reviewing books you’ve read?

I am playing fast and loose by saying I’m catching up with Bookstagram - I’ve spent the last few months falling further and further behind on both reading everyone’s posts and recommendations, and posting myself, that I feel truly catching up is a fools goal.

Case in point, see the stack of books Kev plonked himself in front of - these 14 books are just a smigeon of the larger mountain range of ‘books I must eventually review’ that have slowly taking over every available surface of my attic. Every time I finish a book it finds a temporary* spot in one of these piles, patiently awaiting its own bookstagram post….

*by this stage most of them have been there so long temporary is becoming permanent 💀

Maybe my only hope is to do quick fire two sentence reviews for one pile at a time - at my posting rate maybe I’ll get done with 2026’s reviews by 2028. Given I still haven’t finished 2025’s backlog that’s definitely not happening.

Let me know if you also feel similarly overwhelmed and behind and we can bond 🤣

✨ New Hobby Unlocked - Book Bedazzling✨

Anyone else like to collect an unnecessary amount of hobbies?

I’ve well and truly been inducted into the book bedazzling cult, it was only a matter of time (I blame the Huns at @tandemcollectiveuk for sparking the obsession with our Bella Mackie Claws Out bedazzling session 😘). I’ve been seeing so many people do it for so long and now I’m questioning, why did I leave it til now to start?!

Ahead of ACOTAR 6 (less than a month to gooooooo) I got it in my head what I needed to do with my limited amount of spare time was bedazzle all five books, so they could go on display in my attic library. Truly important stuff.

However I will say this is one of the most mindful and therapeutic crafts - stick an audiobook on, get a glass of wine (or a marg) and you’ve got yourself a perfect quiet Friday night in. And just look at them - more sparkles when the sun hits than Edward Cullen.

If anyone wants to join me you’ll find me on my next free weekend evening working frantically (and therapeutically) on finishing books 3-5 before 27th October.

✨ Hello Again, Bookstagram ✨

Happy Saturday from me and (my not so little puppy anymore) Kevin. It’s been a while!

Anyone else in an end of summer / pre-autumn reading and/ or bookstagram slump?

My brain (and diary) has been non stop for the past couple months, which hasn’t allowed me a much mental space to slow down for reading, or to keep up with Instagram, for a long time now. Thank god for the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks otherwise I practically would have had no books read since early August 😅.

It’s almost like there’s been so much to talk and read and post about, that my mind dissolves and decides to pick doing nothing as the option instead 😂 hopefully some of you relate!

I’m hoping now that with the start of longer cozier nights, my anxiety calms down and I’ll be able to get stuck back into three of my favourite hobbies - posting on here, reading books to post about and also taking 500 photos a day of Kevin. He’s been working on his posting especially for the return to bookstagram, and these are his efforts today.

So I hope you’re all doing very well and I’m hoping a quiet weekend reset is going to be the kickstart I need to spend much more time on here from now on 🧡

✨ The Knave and the Moon Releaae Day 🌙

The day is finally here, Rachel has gifted us the sequel to the incredible The Knight and the Moth (known as the moth book amongst the Spicy Marg Bookclub when I asked, due to my fear of moths, how moth heavy it was 💀. Can confirm Sam was right and they were metaphorical / allegorical moths and the book was 100000/10)

BRB abandoning every book I’ve started and my TBR to spend the next few days devouring this beauty. I’m sure I’ll need tissues and I’m ready to be emotionally devastated once more.

Are you also reading this duology and if so, is it or is it not one of the best fantasy releases in recent memory?!??

What book are you most excited about reading next?!

Thanks to @tandemcollectiveuk and the 2026 Tandem Weekender, I am absolutely BUZZING to have a beautiful shiny shiny new copy of one my favourite author’s next book, Claws Out by the icon herself Bella Mackie. Swipe to see the genuine excitement on my face after walking into the room to see a stack of these books 😍

We also got to bedazzle an accompanying bookmark whilst listening to the first chapter of the audiobook - instead of dreading my 3 hour train home from Nottingham tomorrow, I can’t wait to get a solid stint of reading this beaut. And I may also already be addicted to bedazzling (new hobby unlocked).

✨ New Book Journal Time ✨

Do you journal at all? Whether it’s for reading, life in general or a good old junk journal?

If there’s a one thing about me, it’s that I am a hobby afficiado. I love to collect hobbies and I can never do it casually - whatever I’m into, I’m single-mindedly obsessssed. To the point my bridesmaids did an amazing speech at my wedding highlighting a list of all the obsessions I’ve picked up over the years, swipe to see the evidence 😅 And if I can collect things as part of that hobby? Even better.

So my current obsession, completing reading journals tracking all my reads in a year, has given me the perfect combination of a crafty hobby involving books, with being able to buy and collect allll the stuff to go with it - aka stationary, Polaroids and as you can see here, stickers. 💅

After trying a few brands my ultimate favourite is the journals from @papier. They have space for 32 books, which means I get to order a couple of their beauuuutiful beautiful journals a year, and for my latest one I chose the Polaroid option to use some of my favourite wedding photos seeing as it’s right around our anniversary. And it happens to match my current nails 🍋

The difficulty is that I enjoy the crafty side so much I’m like 20 books behind on actually writing my thoughts and reviews down. Maybe I just need to develop an obsession for the writing part next 😅

If you journal please share what you do, or if you have any favourite craft / stationary / sticker brands you use - I have to say regular trips to @lovestoriesbookshop and the
@cardiffcreativeshop in Cardiff keep me stocked up on the journal sticker front 🤍
