Been saturating myself in creativity lately and gosh darn does it feel good!

Gave a sun printing workshop at a festival in Tahlequah and met some amazing creatives that made me feel so welcomed and appreciated! Painted this in the pit on the last night and had so much fun just letting the music inspire the piece! I hear a beat in every mark I see.

So excited for more festival workshops in the future! Next one at End of Times in Jasper, Arkansas in September ✨

Could you pass the hamster?

My server and I got to chatting about hamsters and they told me a story about their childhood pet, Squeaky, getting stuck behind a hamster wheel on Easter. Squeaky didn’t make it 🫣 and also didn’t come back three days later.
So I tried to go a punny route but they wanted one with a wheel, so they got both 🤣

“Everything Felt”
Mixed Media on Canvas 2023

Been revisiting this piece I made a few years back. Though this is one of my heavier pieces (visually, not physically lol) I started hanging my art around my house and it’s sprouted some new ideas for a few different series!

Still not sure if this is finished but I accompanied it with the poem I wrote that sparked this concept of the figure forming the brain.

I posed for this in my living room to get the shapes I was looking for!

Wanna see some process videos of this one?

Just wrapped up my first kids workshop for Camp Contemporary and it was a blast!
I taught print making techniques to 14 5-6 year olds all week and we did SO many projects that I lost count. I’ll share more about each one later but right now I’m just reveling in how much fun that was and how good I think I did for my first one ever 🤣

Thankful for a great group of kiddos and an amazing assistant that helped me out with every odd task I gave them.
I learned a lot this first go around and I’m super excited for my next ones comin up this summer!

Ft. Our Collaborative Collagraph we made for our showcase today ✨

Finally went to some Hot Springs during the day!

Was thinking about how I haven’t sketched at many then realized since I can remember they’ve all been visited in the dark.
What a special experience to show up to empty pools in the sunshine and get to take it all in! Highly recommend!! Check out how clear that water is too 😍 hopped in seconds after recording that.

This was created with watercolor pencils and [as always] the natural water source and a stick. You can see the exact twig I used to put the river water onto the page and define each section. Went back in with ink later to define a bit more and match it to my memory/emotions at the time I experienced it. The final sketch (for now lol) is at the beginning, then you get the progression of the piece in the order it was created.

This last weekends Paint and Drank was my favorite one yet! I made a few different stencils and had different sized canvases and went for a very “choose your own adventure” approach and it was so cool to see how different every piece turned out!!

Many more to come ✨
