So honored to have been the judge for the annual photo completion at the Plains Indians and Pioneers museum again this year! I always love making the trek out to Woodward to see all of the amazing work from local artists. It’s definitely a challenge to pick the winning images and I have to do it four times for 8 categories 🫣 in addition to the Theme Award and Best of Show!

So much fun getting to chat with the artists that make it to the reception, and of course have to walk away with a couple pieces to add to my collection. This is my third year doing this, so it’s started to form quite the little gallery!

Thankful for @chandlerwatson.photography for the continual support and documentation ✨

Hey, I’m Amy! Welcome to my lil world of savoring beautiful moments. I’ve been taking pictures for over 15 years and got a degree for it somewhere along the way. My emphasis was in alt processes but my capstone highlighted the idea of the camera making others feel a certain level of discomfort.
Since diving into that, I’ve paid a lot of attention to the role I play in that as the photographer. My goal is to make folks feel special, comfortable and beautiful in whatever capacity that looks like to them.

📸 styled by me and shot by my sweet late friend, Carl. He made me feel a lot more comfortable in front of the camera and I helped him with his settings behind it. It was a sweet trade off and I miss his friendship dearly. He was always encouraging me to get my work out there more, so in part this page is thanks to him. by @shotbyamyson

One of these days maybe I’ll be used to being in front of a camera. But it was NOT at the opening of Paseo Photo Fest lol bonus photo is you scroll through all three.
It’s still up til Friday, with the juror talk this Thursday! Lots of cool work in there if you’re needing some more culture in your life 😂

I’ve had a busy few weeks and this one is no exception. Paseo Photo Fest Opening Reception is tonight, 6-9!

Come out and show some love and see some great local work! Every piece is incredible and I’m honored to have my work mixed in there ✨

Super excited to announce I’ll have a piece in the Paseo Photo Fest this year! One of my cyanotypes got in but I’m not sure if I can share that particular piece yet, so here’s a different one I submitted that won’t be in the show lol
