We’re completely thrilled to have been awarded a grant from @continuofoundation towards recording our first album together!

Madness • Folie • Locura

This album will immortalise our first programme together, ‘Yo Soy La Locura’ named after Henri du Bailly’s early-17th-century passacaglia in which Love declares, “I am Madness, though no one believed themselves to be mad”.

The super-close-up-zoom-in of my face that you didn’t know you needed / definitely didn’t ask for 🫪

Falla’s ‘Nana’ from his ‘Siete Canciones Populares’ is one of the most beautiful lullabies ever written, and a central jewel of this song cycle.

This beautiful arrangement by Roderick Williams (baritone, composer… and cellist) was conducted by Will Vann, with the wonderful Joely Koos (leader), Wallis Power, Rebecca Knight, Bethan Lloyd, Danushka Edirisinghe, Iain Hall, Doraly Gill and Samuel Ng.

Matthew @matthewjorysz and I are performing the whole song cycle on Thursday 27th, alongside arias and songs by Manuel de Falla’s contemporaries. And I’m looking forward to talking about it - and singing a couple of bits - on BBC Radio 3 with Katie Derham on Wednesday evening. 🎶

Gracias de corazón al Ayuntamiento, a Antonio Morales y, sobre todo, a cada persona que vino a compartir esta velada tan mágica con nosotros. ❤️

FALLA 150 | ECHOES FESTIVAL 2026

Join soprano Ana Beard Fernández and pianist Matthew Jorysz in London for Falla 150 - a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla.

From his youth in Andalucia to Falla’s creative dialogue with France and his influence on Hispanic music, the programme brings together works by Falla, Albéniz, Turina, Rodrigo, Debussy, Ravel and Montsalvatge.
