I’m still trying to take this all in…

To be recognised by England Golf for creating safe, inclusive spaces for women through golf means everything.

Winning Volunteer of the Year and Women & Girls Trailblazer for Ladies Can Golf was something I never expected, especially surrounded by so many incredible people making a difference in the game.

A big part of this journey has been volunteering with The Golf Trust, helping break down barriers and create opportunities for individuals with disabilities. I’m so proud to be part of that work.

To have my family and friends there with me… that meant the world 🥹

This isn’t just about me, it’s about every woman who has shown up, grown in confidence, and supported each other along the way.

Built on courage, grown through community, and just getting started ✨

My life is so different now, and this extra time I have with my family and friends is so precious to me.

New people I meet in my life would have no idea that I've had a double lung transplant unless I tell them.

I am forever grateful to my lung donor and his family 🥰

Life is too short!
Love those around you and hold them close.
You never know what will happen from day to day, be happy to be alive, and make the most of your time together ❤️

Not in a million years would I have thought I'd be saying this.
Golf has got under my skin! Whenever I have ANY free time I want to hit some balls...
I absolutely love the game, it's totally addictive.

I have completed two Gateway to Golf programmes @finchleygc with Head Professional @craignormansell_golf.coach
Craig is a fantastic coach, the weekly sessions are detailed, well-planned and individualised for each person attending, and the groups are small.
Also, a big Thank You to Chris Gibson, who has supported me during the Gateway alongside Craig.

I had never picked up a golf club before, and now I feel confident and ready to get out on the golf course.
I cannot wait to play with all the lovely Finchley members next year, who have made me feel so welcome over the past 7 months. I have met so many lovely people that are already good friends of mine 🥰

I've posted a few videos to show some of my progression since I started my golf journey this year in April. The first video is me attempting to hit some balls at the range for the 1st time ever. 😆
I am so proud of myself and how far I have come in my game @craignormansell_golf.coach I couldn't have done it without you. Thank You, you have the patience of a saint...

I'm really looking forward to 2023!!
I want to improve my swing speed and hit longer shots, get on the course more and start training for the British Transplant Games Ladies Golf Event in Coventry 2023...🙌

Transplant life is not easy, I am often asked "so you are okay now?"
If only it was that simple...
Lots of people are unaware of the mental and physical impact transplant has on individuals.

But I am forever grateful to my donor and his family for giving me the gift of life.

I am so thankful for every extra second I have with my family and friends.

Tonight, we honour a truly inspirational volunteer whose story reflects resilience, kindness and the life changing impact of golf.

After a life saving double lung transplant just five years ago, Ana Browne discovered golf as a pathway to physical and mental recovery.

Today, she dedicates countless hours to helping others experience those same benefits.

As Co Founder of Ladies Can Golf, Ana plays an active role in creating safe, welcoming environments for women to take their first steps into the game. Her warm encouragement and supportive presence help beginners feel confident, capable and connected.

Through her volunteer work with The Golf Trust, Ana supports young people with autism, offering patience, empathy and understanding. Her ability to connect with participants from all backgrounds is truly special.

From fighting to walk three minutes to playing 18 holes and representing Great Britain at the World Transplant Games, Ana’s journey is a testament to strength and hope.
Her impact on others is profound — and deeply deserving of recognition. ❤️👏⛳

Incredible club fitting experience @pxguk and gorgeous golf clubs @pxg
Custom fitted at their South London store.

Ladies, go and get a custom fit with PXG, you wont regret it! I promise.
My fitter Jasper was outstanding, very knowledgeable, patient and caring.

To be honest I was very nervous to be fitted so much so I felt I had to take my husband with me. I was worried, I'd be taken advantage off, not taken seriously and pushed into a sale because I was a fairly new female golfer.

This wasn't the case at all! I wish I'd gone sooner

PXG took their time and I was listened too.
I've had a double lung transplant and my clubs were designed to my needs/requirements.
Each golfers fitting will be unique to them.
I was so impressed, my club head speed got faster, I gained distance on all my clubs and even my not so accurate shots were clustered closer together..Id call that a WIN WIN 🙌

I was visiting The Harefield Hospital today to see my pain specialist team. During the hours wait, as my pain treatment was taking effect, I popped over to the cafe to grab a hot chocolate from @costacoffee to distract myself from the discomfort.

To my surprise, Sir Magdi was arriving shortly to sign his books that were being sold. I met Sir Magdi. He was such a sweet man, and I was delighted to receive a copy of his signed book.

Sir Magdi performed some of the first heart transplants in Britain and the first heart-lung transplants in Europe. At London's Harefield Hospital, he created the greatest heart transplant center in the world. Among his patients are men and women who are still thriving more than thirty-five years after he gave them new hope.

I'm so proud to be a Harefield double lung transplant patient, such an amazing hospital.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet such a legend!
