POSTS STORIES REELS

Hello again, this is @gustavominas, finishing my takeover showing some of my favorite Brazilian photographers. Today I'm happy to post some of the work of @anacichowicz. I love how her photos manage to bring together a sense of mystery and beauty from otherwise banal everyday scenes.

Ana Cichowicz is a Brazilian artist and social anthropologist based in Germany. Working across street, documentary and conceptual photography, her practice emerges from dialogues between art, philosophy and anthropology. Rather than treating photography as the representation of a pre-existing reality, she approaches the image as an act of world-making, something that comes into being through encounters between bodies, objects, spaces, light and the camera itself. Her work explores the poetics of everyday life and the tensions between the real and its potentialities, asking what other scenes, relations and worlds might emerge through the photographic act. by @anacichowicz

We no longer live in Berlin, but the summers we spent there will stay with us. What a privilege it was to live in such a vibrant capital, with so much artistic and cultural expression in its architecture, its galleries and museums, its streets; with so many parks, so many lakes, so much green.

Lecce, Otranto, Torre dell’Orso, Punta Prosciutto...

shattering into smaller suns to form their own

ANA CICHOWICZ | Hi again, this is @gustavominas taking over for a couple of weeks. I'm featuring some of my recent series as well as some Brazilian photographers I’ve had the chance to know over the last few years. Today I have the pleasure of showcasing Ana Cichowicz's lovely work (@anacichowicz)
.
"I am a Brazilian photographer and social anthropologist based in Germany. My work emerges at the intersection of art, philosophy, and anthropology, exploring world-making practices and the poetics of everyday (street) life. Working across street, documentary, and conceptual photography, I approach photography not as a representation of a pre-existing reality, but as a practice of drawing things together.

By deciding what enters the frame, what remains outside it, and how bodies, gestures, objects, atmospheres of everyday life are brought into relation within the image, photography becomes, for me, capable of bringing forth worlds that would not exist without the moment of exposure." by @anacichowicz

Very happy to have my work featured in this incredible exhibition, alongside photographers from around the world!

Kraków, Poland
18–22 September 2026

Thank you @worldwide__streets and @unrecognised_collective for having me! ❤️ by @anacichowicz

Ana Cichowicz describes her relationship with these moments in her own words:
“What draws me to these particular moments is the possibility of finding, in everyday life, something that seems to momentarily exceed it. I am interested in the strange, poetic and sometimes improbable worlds that can emerge from encounters already taking place around us.
I tend to think of photography less as a way of capturing a world that already exists and more as an act of world-making.”
In this selection, red connects otherwise separate moments. Changing its role from one image to another, it creates a shared visual rhythm without asking the photographs to tell the same story.

Which photograph stayed with you the longest?

@fotografarpalavras completa 10 anos.

Obrigada, Fotografar Palavras. E que venham os próximos 10 anos.

Obrigada, minha cara @elsa.arrais , por me mandar fotos, já que não pude estar lá ♡ by @anacichowicz

To the whole @postal_5.6 team, first and foremost, thank you so much for making such a vibrant event possible!

What an immense joy it was to have one of my photographs exhibited this August alongside the work of so many incredible photographers.

So many perspectives, so many worlds brought together in Mexico by people who understand that, just as the street is constantly made and remade through the ways people share these spaces, street photography is made and remade the very same way.

I am grateful to @alonso_diaz_de_anda for this and for gathering images for those of us who could not be there, as well as to @damianzitro, whose video also appears in this reel.
