Standing in gratitude with huge news 🗞️ one of my pieces, “Rooted Womban: Aliciana in Daydream,” was selected for the 2026 Outlined in Black Exhibition! 🎨✨ This particular body of work is very close to my heart as it is a sneak peek from an evolving series that I’m currently working on. Bringing a work-in-progress to this stage is a profound gift. It is a true joy to share space and be included alongside so many brilliant Black artists from across Northeast Ohio. 🖤

Presented by the @abaguild the exhibition will be hosted at the @akron_soul_train in downtown Akron. The opening reception is Friday, October 2nd, and the show runs all month long through October 31st.

📍 Akron Soul Train Gallery (191 S. Main Street, Akron, OH)
🗓️ On View: Oct 2 – Oct 31, 2026

Be sure to tap into @all_kyla.ann @p31_artsanddesign two of my new favorite artist who’s work rooted me back into self.

‘Who TF I am’

Special thanks to author of @thebodyisnotanapology @sonyareneetaylor who deeply inspired the finishing of one of my most adored collages: Naked Womban. Imagine my surprise to see it propped up in last week’s episode of Mundane Miracles behind the one & only @sonyareneetaylor !!

Within the same week episode 4 ‘Rubber Band Time’ aired, I received my first exhibition decline email. Even though I anticipated my first submission would be declined, it still bruised the ego a bit. The moment I wanted to give into self loathing, a little voice said: why you mad about something that was never meant for you.

My beautiful friend said to me: what’s meant for us is meant for us.

Week of 12.2.24 lessons:

•Ebb & Flow

•Blessings & opportunity for growth while being continuously inspired by peers & mentors
