A familiar silhouette takes on a new dimension in mouth-blown glass. For @birkenstock’s Berlin store, we developed a bespoke lighting piece inspired by the distinctive contours of the original footbed.

Produced entirely in Berlin, the project brought together every stage of custom production, from the development of a dedicated mould to the glass colours and integrated lighting system. In close collaboration with our talented glassblower @williamrudolphfaulkner, we translated the familiar shape into glass, drawing on the knowledge and techniques of a long-standing glassmaking tradition.

As part of @ewancash’s store design, the piece sits alongside work by other local makers, reflecting a shared commitment to the creative practices shaping Berlin today.

With LIQUID RESONANCE, we explored how our relationships with objects are shaped by making, material and the worlds around them.

Glass follows its own logic: heat, time, gravity and cooling. Rather than smoothing away the characteristics these forces leave behind, we make them an integral aspect of the design. Each piece becomes a record of its own process: an Edition of One, not because singularity is rare, but because it becomes inevitable when the designers approach allows the material to shape the outcome. The mouth-blown glass collections are available via www.analog.glass.

@aoiro.air approached the exhibition through scent, working with botanical essences. With @___netzwerk and @reidarmester joining us in the space, LIQUID RESONANCE also became an expression of the community and exchange that shape San Gimignano Lichtenberg.

For millennia, glass and scent have been inseparable. Ancient Egypt developed glass vessels specifically to hold what couldn’t touch air: precious oils, resins, unguents. The form emerged from the need. The material honored what it contained.

AOIRO carries this tradition forward—not as nostalgia, but as active practice. Shizuko Yoshikuni and Manuel Kuschnig work with botanical essences and pure absolutes, filtering their interpretations through design theory and phenomenological depth. They create spatial atmospheres where scent becomes synesthetic encounter: an invitation to ritual slowness.

In our collaborative exhibition Liquid Resonance, @aoiro.air joins ANALOG to ask: what happens when we build entire experience spaces from these irreducible materials? When glass, water, and scent create conditions where authentic encounter becomes possible again?

Scent is irreducible. It transforms with time, temperature, skin chemistry—it refuses to be standardized or controlled. This is why it conducts resonance: it demands attention, speaks through its own becoming, resists reduction to mere consumption. For our collaborative exhibition Liquid Resonance, fragrance becomes the anchor where encounter happens: the invitation to listen, to experience the world speaking back.

For Hakudo Rain, @aoiro.air works with pure botanical essences, interpreting the phenomenological experience of rain into olfactory form. One can feel the earth rising from the ground, see leaves entirely injected with life and the lush moss ground giving off sparkles. While still wrapped in tranquility after the rain has passed, nature echoes. Interpreting this stream of moments into the scent of rain enables one to recreate the ritual-like and timeless quality.

On the occasion of @currents.berlin the design festival by @jasminjouhar and @lauraewertofficial, we present Liquid Resonance in cooperation with AOIRO—the third exhibition in the format, now engaging all the senses. Through @aoiro.air the olfactory sense in particular.

Our smooth objects invite a haptic urge to touch, to trace the frozen moment of the glass’s movement. AOIRO’s scent held in glass dissolves into the air, unfolding its cultural magic. Together, we stage a sensual, bodily experience: scent and glass.

Mouth-blown and individually formed by hand, OMAM carries the process of its making into every space it enters. Designed by Philipp Weber, its form is rooted in the tension between traditional glassblowing techniques and a contemporary design approach. No two pendants are ever entirely alike, and its role is never fixed. It can hold a room, recede into it, or quietly shape the atmosphere of everyday life.

OMAM is a study of movement and material.

Each piece emerges from breath. Glassblowing is a collective craft, built on trust, timing and years of shared experience. Every hand knows when to support, when to guide and when to let the material lead.

Rather than prescribing a fixed form, OMAM is designed around the process itself, preserving the movement of its making in every piece. An edition of one, never to be repeated.
